Just a word to the wise--
Maybe I'm the only one who didn't think of this ahead of time, but I recently had my valve covers and intake powder coated. I never gave a thought to the possibility that the plugs in the rear of the manifold were "boss" fittings. (O-ring) I'm guessing that from the heat of baking the powder coat on, the O-rings cooked. I started smelling raw gas from the engine compartment and saw residue under # 9 intake runner where it met the head. I thought I might just need to re-torque the manifold, which I did. No good. Thanks to my good friend Dave 6666, who reminded me that those plugs indeed have O-rings, I didn't burn my car down.
I don't like making plans for the day, because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom.
