I guess I got lucky for a change
Tore the car apart on Thursday to put in a new clutch. It was time. No leaks and no slippage, just time. Got it all apart and new clutch installed and when I went to bench bleed the new master I hooked it up to the old slave and pumped some fluid through. I saw some fluid coming out of the back of the old slave right around the edge of the center. Had a crack about an inch long almost halfway around!! Front of trans was dry when I pulled it and so was the cover for the flywheel? Clutch master never lost any fluid either. I guess maybe the pressure against the front of the trans kept the crack closed up. That sucker could've come apart at any time. Don't want to think what could have happened if it did in traffic. Hopefully have the car back on the road tomorrow. Thanks for the words of wisdom Dave 6666.
I don't like making plans for the day, because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom.
