Viper Fluids Maintenance Chart

As an FYI, here's my latest version of the Viper Fluids Maintenance Chart (now including a revision date for people's reference) - only tweaks from before include a reference to Dexron not being preferred over Castrol for transmission fluids, and to reduce the font size so that the htm file would print off as a single page in landscape mode.

Re: Viper Fluids Maintenance Chart

Over on the VCA site, it was recommended that I include times for when fluids should be changed, in addition to mileage, e.g., for those who don't ever drive their damned cars. Does anyone have any times for which various sorts of fluids should be changed within?

I agree with that and it would have been my only comment.

I'd say a 6 month max between oil changes if you're using full synthetic. Maybe an annual flush/fill on the cooling system and brake fluid.

I'm not sure on the other fluids though. I'd probably flush/fill them every other year.

Re: Viper Fluids Maintenance Chart

I found these times for fluid changes in the Service Manual:
Oil - 6 months
Differential / Rear - 18 months
Brake - 24 months
Clutch - 24 months
Coolant - 36 months, then every 24 months

Nothing on:
Transmission fluid
Power Steering fluid

I understand certain brake fluid (e.g., Castrol SRF) needs to be changed more frequently (e.g., 18 months). Any info on times for particular fluids, and on transmission or power steering fluid changing times?

Re: Viper Fluids Maintenance Chart

Here's an easier chart:

Brake - Every race

Others - Every other race
