Clutch recommendations for my twin turbo, my ACT is slipping

Well I just got a call from the tuner. We are doing a pump gas and a race gas tune. He said that he can see in the log the clutch is starting to slip at 16lbs with pump gas and he didn't even want to attempt the 18lbs on race gas until we get a better clutch in there.

I have a ACT in it now and it drives awesome. Just wondering what are some good clutches out there that I could use that wouldn't cost an absurd amount of money.

Which generation Viper is it again?

What kind of power numbers are you shooting for? What did it make when it slipped?

I have a really good tuner.

93 octane, 16psi, no meth.

He couldnt finish the tune because he said the clutch couldnt hold the power, and he is bumping it up to 18psi for the racegas when I install it.

I drived it a few times since i picked it up and he is right! I'm ordering one next week.

RSI triple went to a 1000whp TT GTS (Jtin).

Do you have little turbos?

Has your short block got forged main caps? Head and main studs? Upgraded connecting rods and forged pistons? Ported heads? Clutches are rated by hp. My 720whp Roe gets by on a stock clutch, but it never ever saw a set of wrinkle slicks ... I have a Spc 3+ (750whp rating) copperite/cf clutch on the shelf.

My TT seems to run 1100whp on 13psi pump gas, with a 1500+whp race gas tune uses a dual disc $3400 Macleod clutch.

I bought the used rsi clutch.
I will have a spec st3+ with aluminum flywheel for sale when I decide to install the triple.

The spec never let me down until I put 28'' hoosier slicks on the car. On street tires , the tires would spin long before the clutch would.

With all the research I've done your cheapest bet is a centerforce DYAD soon to be avalible I THINK. Next is the McLeod from viper specialty sells for about $2000, and of course the rsi twin for $2500,or triple for $3500

My spec with flywheel $600

I have a virtually brand new RPS Triple Carbon on the shelf for Gen-1/2, and McLeods can be had in a few days at very reasonable prices <2K. I also have a virtually new Spec 3+ on the shelf, which is good for about 1000lbs of torque.

Clutches are NOT rated in horsepower. They are rated in TORQUE and RPM range- specifically minimum dynamic or static release if dealing with the best manufacturers. Horsepower is just a derived measurement, it means absolutely nothing for a clutch rating. Otherwise, you could take a dinky clutch that holds 250 ft/lbs, give it a 20K RPM rating, and then claim it holds 1000 horsepower to sell it to the Viper guys. I wonder how long that rating system would last with you guys? LOL

I got a spec twin, peddle is little harder then stock. I got the un sprung hubs... Pretty harsh but can drive on the street but kinda off or on. Rated for 1795lbs.... Can find on sale for 1700.00 but sprung hubs might have been a better idea
