My 99 made 445whp/473wtq with smooth tubes, headers, no cats, and a corsa exhaust. This was on the stock tune on a dyno jet 248C SAE corrected.

So basically the same thing as me minus the headers, and we are both running the stock tune which is nice. I'm not totally convinced that a tune will help at all with simple bolt ons.

PM'd but in case you didn't see...

Long tube headers, high flow cats, 3" borla exhaust, cold air intake, smooth tubes, ported and polished intake manifold, ported & knifebladed throttle bodies,170 t-stat, 3 core radiator. Supposidly the dealer tuned the car years ago but I think the original owner was dooped on that one. I'd like to get some roller rockers, remove the cats and a real dyno tune. I'd love to see close to 500/500

Mine is around the same 2000 Rt/10 around 448/478, belanger headers, K&N, 70m throttle bodies (which probably hurt) high flow cats, borla exhaust, very light tune… @ DC performance around 2 years ago and I believe their dyno was conservative.

Do you know anything about mods and hp and dyno pulls? Or have you just perfected repeating what other people say and reposting it?

I think what really starts to deliver on all these bolt on or plug in mods, is when you do heads and cam work on top of it. Plenty of info available here to back that up, including work I've done on my own car. Every damn bolt on in the world (short of rockers) and a little over 100 hp on the dyno is what I've gained. With h/c I bet that would jump by 200 more.

Your SCT tune did nothing Dave? When ART was still around, Chris Pharr and David Weaver did an SCT tune on mine and it went from 426/470 to 441/489. That's with no cats, borla exhaust with stock headers and K&N filters. It took'em maybe 4 or 5 pulls to get to that result.

Are you just totally stupid? You have a trashed Viper you claim "got stolen," you post useless comments in technical threads, and is it any wonder you're negged out? TommyCammer?

Canned tunes are totally different then dyno tunes.... which I was hoping a mail order tune from Roe would help.

Who in Houston tunes vipers? I need some roller rockers and removal of cats first. Has anyone done close to 500whp with bolt ons?

Eventually I'd love some worked over heads and a cam, but the end goal is TT, so I'd have to get a turbo cam until I pony up for the twins.

Yep I misread. You're right, a canned one size fits all tune wouldn't do much since every viper is just different enough to screw that up.

My mail order Roe tune made 403 whp. I took it to a local shop to get dyno tuned and picked up 30whp.

It is not worth buying a mail order tune, they are just too generic. All it takes is for one car to blow and the customer toblame the mail order tune. Once that happens the tuner's business and reputation is shot.
