This was before the days of infinite restrictions and regulations that seem to plague modern day racing.

According to the owner of the car, no sequential in that car. Old school H pattern.

In 2000 for Endurance races from 12h to 24h Oreca used the Tremec H pattern gearbox. But for ALMS races they were using mostly Ricardo sequential ones.
C27 being still to 100% original unrestored condition it still has the H-Pattern one.

You obviously know nothing about racing then.
Scroll down on the comments of your video to see that that car raced with a restrictor plate at 430 HP. Every aspect of that car was guided by strict rules to keep the class competitive.
The last unlimited series was the mid 70s Can Am, which the 917 wiped out, proving near unlimited factory dollars can dominate.
Since then rules in every series have been tightly in place to make it racing, not just winning by one brand. Even the Porsche fans got bored of the 917 winning almost every time and stopped coming to the races.

Absolutely insane that all these years later the cars still kick ass, just shows how good those Oreca prepped cars were with a good driver. I mean shit, passing race cars like it was a cake walk, flew by a comp coupe like it was in reverse lol
In 2000 those cars were restricted to 650hp and unrestricted 800hp. If they were restricted to 430hp why let the Corvette run a custom 427 C5R block? Maybe later or in a different class but never in GT1. If that's what you meant your probably right.
Comp Coupes can vary so much, based on the wing that is an original undeveloped Comp Coupe. I have battled 600hp Comp Coupe with some updates in my GTS and they're pretty close. My brakes aren't that great and my car still weighs more. My dads Comp Coupe would destroy my GTS. His car weighs 2,900lbs with roughly 700hp and a Sequential. The few regular Competitive Comp coupes in World Challenge were on a different level. The last race we did, my dad and another Comp Coupe beat all the ACR-X's. That was when my dads car had stock heads. She runs much stronger now.

I remember when your dad first got the "Electric Frog" back in 03' Ran into Johnny Yuma about a month ago at Cal Speedway, he mentioned you hustle that GTS around the track quite well.

Did you get an email from Jim Stout. I think they are gonna run a NARA series on the West Coast. My dad and I are hoping to do several races this fall, hopefully I will see you at the track one of these days. It's been too long since my dad and I have raced. I think the engine in my GTS is gonna go, but Yuma told me to stop being a little girl and run it until it blows. Yuma is the man.
