From the title of thread I was hoping to see a model of this car, because at sometime I was going to build either a 1:18 or possibly a 1:12 scale 1996 Shelby Viper, just need the right wheels and to fabricated a roof and rear wing. I prefer doing a 1:12 bigger, nicer and easier to work with.
Personally, I could give a fuck about Carroll Shelby, but that may just be me.
I'm with you. He didn't have as large a role in the Viper as did the other 3 of the 4Fathers.
He wanted the car stripped down more than it was in the beginning. Guess he wanted it to be a rattly, rough riding, fast, POS that the Cobra was. I don't have much use for him or his attitude these days.
Thanks Carroll for whatever you contributed to the Viper, but please, just go buh-bye.
Im sorry....I missed the part where I asked "who gives a fk about Carroll Shelby" lol
I've got nothing against him...why would I?? Sure he's old, cranky and a bit cocky, but he's done more for the automotive community than many. He's a very approachable guy, very nice in person...and what I admire most is that he gives a sizable amount of his time/resources to charity. I don't see a Steve Saleen or Parnelli Jones Foundation (although Jones, on rare occasions, does charity work). I know someone who used to sit on the board of directors for the Shelby Foundation, and she mentioned that he personally was very involved with the foundation.
side note: Tom Gale himself once said "just like without the k-car, there would be no Chrysler, without Shelby and Lee Iacocca, there would be no Viper, or any performance oriented Chrysler vehicles for that matter"
