Hey guys, one of our detailers that works on all the Exotics and High End Cars around the Austin, San Antonio, Houston area will be there giving out T-shirts for our Exotic / High End car board called AustinExoticCars.com or "AEC". I figured some of you may be interested because the back graphics look pretty cool and I chose a Viper to be the center of attention for the cars as you can see in the pics below, so it's just an all round cool shirt to wear out to car meets. Look for the White and Black "Dust 2 Glory Mobile Detailing" Van at TX2K12 and ask Michael for a shirt! That 60-130 thing sucks for the Viper, as it needs to make (2) shifts to get there. 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th.
It really benefits cars that only have to do one shift, or auto cars.

A 60 to 150 would make most cars have to make 2 shifts and would let Viper and Vettes get a closer number with the competition.

I wonder who came up with that speed range? Was it the Supra Guys?

Unlimited tell me more aobut the Hoosier 335-18s, how do they compare with the other DRs in the market??

A properly setup viper with the Ford GT rear tires and a slightly raised rev limiter can do it in one shift 2-3. 2nd gear 3800rpm (60mph) 3rd gear 6150rpm (130mph). 28" tall tire 2nd 3950rpm(60mph) 3rd 6350rpm(130mph)

That's the tire that I have been running for awhile now. If both of you guys are able to clear whatever big brake kits that you have with a stock 17" viper rim then you should be able to use that tire size. The gts requires a small notching of the frame rail. I'm not sure about the srt but it is definitely has more wheelwell space than the gts. The tire will not bottom out even with the suspension all the way compressed. The only reason my car was minitubb was so that I can go with a 31" tire. I can guarantee you guys that if you roll on the streets with a 29.5 you will intimidate a lot of awd cars. I have taken out a built gtr on the streets before. If I were to line up with you guys at the track and you guys had on 29.5, my car would be puking it guts out on the track.

I'm on prodrag setup. Tires tuck nicely inside fenders. No need to trim anything. Its 2" lower than stock. I can't fully clear a jack on the front without scraping the sidesills but can do so on the rear

Stacy Barnett did it in 1 shift.....

Put down 1,500 rwhp and drop in a 2.73 rear end. lol He was, and I believe still is the record holder for that particular event.

The "60mph-130mph" (96.77kph- 209.67kph) is relatively close to the "100kph-200kph" (62 mph- 124mph) that the guys do overseas. So I'm assuming the Americans picked up on it and chose nice round numbers near those two start and stop points. We actually run a larger speed gap than the Euro guys.

I dunno... maybe you had a bad set, or they were not setup properly?

Guys have been running 8's and 7's on that gearset no problem. Technically the higher the gear (longer gears) the stronger they are. They have more meat on them since the teeth are physically larger. What rear-end are you running; Are you using a Mark Williams or a Quaife?

Look at the f-body guys, throw some 4.10's in a stock 10 bolt and they'll blow under stock power. Put a 3.33 in them and that rearend will hold together on a 9 second run.

I guess the only way you're going to get a good 1-shift run is to run a 30" tall slick, or bump your rev limiter up to eek-out 130mph. With enough power, you may be able to roll into it at 60 in 3rd and hold it out to 130 with a 6,500 rpm limiter. How much to the wheels are you laying down right now?
