Congrats Red, nice driving as getting within 2mph over 2 runs shows. That is a quick car!
I got consistently better thru the day. A couple of runs at 149, then a couple at 150, then finally at 151.
I learned a few things about my car too. I don't think the Roe set up gets enough credit. My car was dead nuts reliable. No issues with anything. I didn't have to turn any wrenches or make any adjustments or re-tunes, etc.
Most of the cars there were running power adders. Lots of supercharged cars, turbo cars and Nitrous cars. The small blowered Roe car (and stock motor) represented well.
My car hooks extremely well. I watched alot of cars spinning really hard out of the hole. I had no problem getting out of the hole with minimal spin and never lost traction mid track.
It was definitely worth the 14 hour haul each way. Made for a long weekend though.
did I not call that...said you'd do about 150mph. Good job, looks like you had fun. Maybe next time I can make it.
It's crazy to think that we can trap about 130 in the 1/4 but then in the .5mi you only pick up about 20mph. In a full mile...I only picked up 50mph. Damn my car is slow.
I'm sure a shorter 5th gear whill help alot though this .75 sucks big ones if you don't have the power to turn it.
lol, good call. I tried to make it to the traps in 4th gear but couldn't quite do it. I was shifting into 5th just before I got there. Didn't seem to make any difference in my MPH either way. I added 2 mph through out the day just by working on my launches and shifts. I agree on the shorter 5th gear. I also wish I had a usable 6th gear for the street but that's a topic for another thread.
