There were turn after turn short bursts and jaunts, but no real straight away to let the two tone Firebird that I was in really sing. We were running in the "A" group and had the misfortune of lining up behind a late 60's Mustang fastback that was blackflagged earlier in the day for dropping oil.
We caught him every. single. turn.
Ultimately we had to come in due to high water temps in the radiator. The problem's cause is still unknown at this time. Poss a bad water pump.
I also learned that I don't ride bitch too well as my stomach wasn't a fan of the lateral throws of the car.
I had a four point harness that when I strapped in, I pulled it tight again. Then one more time for good measure. I figure, if you have a hard time breathing from your body being compressed, you STILL may not be strapped in enough.
The real shocker was this one burst uphill to a bridge and immediately after passing underneath is a hard 90' left turn. It scared the living daylights outta me for a first time on a hot lap with an unknown track to me. Our laptime was in the high 2:40s.
