Larry Dixon Ok After Crash Today

Car was on a run and Chassis broke right before the Drivers Box. Shows you the stress the Dragster is under every run.

Glad he's ok. Great person and driver too.

There should be some world record list on drivers that obtained the most height during an incident. That was nearly astronaut status right there.

Same exact thing happened to Larry at almost exactly the same point on the Track a few years ago.

Wow he is lucky! I imagine if the car had landed upside down it would not have ended well for him.

That is a scary wreck and he is lucky to have come out of it "uninjured;" although, I bet he was sore as hell afterward.

Here are a series of VERY impressive close-up still photos from a trackside pro photographer.
They really capture the moments in spetacular detail !

he was very lucky the car landed the way it did.

I think the chutes deploying helped keep the car on the track and slow it down dramatically....glad he is ok.

Photo sequence of a lifetime - and a life saved!

These chassis are designed to move around vertically. With huge down force in front and rear they natural stress in the middle which is perfectly fine. When the car "snakes" down the track, they weaken the welds and you have failure. When i worked for a nitro team, the frame was checked and inspected after every round.

These cars are absolutely Unreal! If I had the finances, I would love to fund a nitro team.

If you can ignore the goofy, annoying, network news show BS, there are a nice couple of sound bites from Larry Dixon after the accident in the following video. "Another day at the office." Cool guy !
