First trip to the 1/4

First time out getting on a real 1/4 mile track with the car.

If you have any helpful tips to get these 20" INVOs to hook, please share your method.

Burnout? RPM? Feather or dump? Time slip and 60s? ETs and mph? Just looking for as much help as possible before I just say fuck it and buy tires.

More power lol. It was in a twin turbo viper. Point being, they are one of your best choices for a real street tire and decent track tire. Nothing is going to replace time at the track.

Well shit. 12.0 beats my 12.2 all day long lol. I'm getting some shitty hop as well. I tried dropping pressure down pass after pass and it seemed to like 20lbs. 2nd gear wheel hop was killing my ET. What's up with that? Cold track? No good prep? Temp was in the low 50s as well.

2.0 60' time is actually not bad for 20" Nitto Invo tires, but they are hurting your ET. The 20s probably make you slower, due to weight, also. Getting some 18s for the rear, with drag radials, you'll likely cut 1.7s and knock off another 4-5 tenths off the ET.

I think the 20s is killing it along with its gearing. Im topping out 3rd and shifting to 4th in the last bit of track. Its almost as if I can ride 3rd out the back end lol. Its that close.

So, whats the consensus? Switch to 18" rears with a DR and call it a day? If so, what size tire?

Im looking at these right now, and I'd throw them on my OEM wheels for the time being.
