I'm curious to know how mod friendly the C7 will be. My best guess is GM wants their performance minded customers to stay satisfied by allowing owners to mod fairly openly without having to completely remove the stock hardware in place of a whole new unit like a Motec or AEM just to add forced induction on.

It's already beyond mod friendly, tunes are even already being done. LG just did a set of headers and gained something like 50rwtq and 40rwhp with their new headers for the LT1 that's nuts for a n/a engine, either showing this motor is held back or loves to breathe like a mofo.
Looks like 3rd to 4th gear pulls..mostly…at least the 60 mph roll-on. Not that I've run many, but I'm sure not in 3rd or 4th as long as these cars are.
We can't say that yet!!!! We have to have faith in Our Gen V!!!
I'm going to venture out and say the showdown between the two will be similar to when the C6 Z06 came out in that it was slightly faster then an SRT. However, on a road course, the Viper will still hold it's own against the Z.
I know we're talking more "new ness" so to speak, but remember V4C I had my 08 ACR vs. my 08 ZO6 and there's NO WAY my ZO6 could hang w/my ACR on a road course!!!
Here's what Edmunds had to say, seems fairly balanced I guess though the times are so close I'm willing to be a driver swap or at least more seat time in the Viper would have it on par with the C7 in regards to the slalom/skid pad ect.

I get sick of hearing well "we couldn't find someone brave enough to really push the Gen V" or something like that...GIVE ME A F'N BREAK!!!!
The base VIPER should be way ahead of the base C7 Vette.
