Koenigsegg does 250 MPH at Ring

Here’s The Koenigsegg Agera R Doing 250 MPH On The Ring (w/Video) | 0-60 Magazine

When they get serious about running there, I have a feeling the record is gonna drop by a LOT. I bet the Venom GT could also do some damage there.

Does it have to come in after every lap and refuel? I'm sure that baby is going through some gallons at 250 mph.

The 250 mph pass on the Ring straight does not sound possible given the cars horsepower and the lack of total straight length....plus it has to slow down for the corner at the end of the straight.

Unless I see a radar gun or at least a Vbox or something with some numbers, I don't buy it.

Without more aero, this Egg will not set a Ring record IMO.

I didnt think the ring was that fast. 250 does sound high.

Still waiting for the Venom gt to finally make some runs.

What are you guys talking about? The Ring has the longest straight of any race track in the world (2.2 miles). The Koeniggsegg has performance which towers above a Bugatti. I am not even remotely surprised they hit that speed, especially considering they hit the main straight coming off a fast corner.

Some of you just don't realize what speeds cars can reach from a roll-on, with some real estate in front of you.

How many miles did it take Capt. Slow to get to over 250 on that VW track? Is was the VW track wasn't it?

I don't buy the 250 here.

Of course it took the Bugatti a long time to reach its top speed. The Koeniggsegg still has a long way to go at 250. The Agera R hits 186 mph in 14.5 vs. 16.7 seconds for a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. James May was in the regular Veyron which is considerably slower than the SS, which is considerably slower than the Agera R. If the Agera R hit the main straight at 80 mph and then had say, 2 miles before braking for the high speed kink (which can be taken north of 150 mph), you don't think it could hit 250 mph? That's probably a 220-230 mph mile car from a dead stop.

The entry into the straight can be done at well over 100 mph. But, as rough as that track is I don't believe the 250 mph run without proof. So the real question is this, how much distance does it take the Egg to go from 100 mph to 250 mph?. I'm pretty sure somebody good at math can figure this riddle out.

I hope they were able to accomplish this feat, but I have serious doubts.

George

I have no reason to believe the 'egg wouldn't knock down a standing mile time in the 220-230 range. If they can hit the straight north of 100, it would seem impossible that they don't hit 250 even with the slight up hill gradient. We're talking about a car with ~1000+ RWHP, 31xx pounds, and aero which flattens out with speed. Drag area of 0.62 m^2, which is really good (better than just about everything running at the mile. Ford GT is ~0.73).
