I took my 02 GTS from Ft. Worth to about 100 miles east of St Louis 3 times ( about 800 miles each way ) and averaged 23+ MPG each time. 80 + MPH on interstate 44. ( speed limit was 75 )

Try replacing the check valve in the vacuum line...

Try replacing the check valve in the vacuum line coming off the back of the pass side of the intake by the valve cover. Fixed mine. It would only fade under severe throttle with new check valve.

If I remember correctly, on mine it was mounted in the back of the battery box itself. Kind of a PIA to get to. When the battery was in place, it pushed up against the sensor.
