Hank for every pound you take out of rotating mass it's like taking 8lbs out of the rest of the truck. Unsprung weight(wheels, tire) and driveline. It's still like the fat lady turning down the dinner mint after cleaning out the buffet.

It's a heavy, fast truck. Enjoy it, and don't waste your money modding it. Save the money for a Viper, or another car, better yet for a downpayment. I'm buying duplexes in South San Diego, that if you , as an owner occupier, put 4% down, the other half's rent would cover your entire mortgage payment. You'd be living there for the price of the water bill.

Please don't do multiple one line posts. It's annoying, and a waste of our time and yours. If you have something more to say 30 seconds later, go to your previous post, hit the edit tab on it and add it to that post. One of the best things I've learned on this board is to reread my post before I hit reply and ask if it is funny, or adds to the thread, or is it just noise. You would appear smarter and more interesting if you did that. It shows respect for the other people on here as well.

Almost pulled the trigger on a Busa myself until my insurance agent told me the cost(triple my Viper) and that I should consider another mid-life. So I opted for a V-Rod. See Hank, we're not that bad...... ok, that's probably a stretch!!

Umm yea......I'm gonna hope by the close of business today order is restored to the Alley. This nicey happy go lucky is creeping me out.

Since this isnt AG, I concur, CF shaft is only relevant once you get to a certain power level. To me Mr. Hanky, you have a real viper fanatics DD, leave it alone and get a toy now or later to mod the hell out of.

Additionally, their ability to absorb driveline shock reduces stress on the rest of the driveline.

Cons
Probably the cost of it
I don't know what "independent tests" came up with up to a 5% horsepower gain, but I don't buy it for a minute. There is no possible way you're going to see that kind of gain unless it's being compared to a cast iron driveshaft.

One benefit not mentioned is that when a CF shaft breaks, it's not going to tear the shit out of the vehicle (which does still happen even with a loop). CF splinters and breaks into pieces, unlike a chromoly projectile that bangs the hell out of the undercarriage of the car.

As 1fast400 stated...considering the cost the money is better spent elsewhere unless you are squeezing every ounce of power and speed out of a vehicle.

From what I read they aren't lighter as the yokes are heavier than staok units. So there is no weight savings = waste of money.

If you do get transfered North, Murietta, most of Riverside and Temecula are awash in foreclosures that you can buy with 4% down and live in cheaper than rent. It's like buying Vipers for 15K.

Wait till your current shaft is done for, then spend on the CF driveshaft... Wayy too much money fixing something that aint broke and probably will never be broke..

Spend it on some better Accessories for the car that can be appreciated more.. Like those metal Bull Balls that swing/hang from the Hitch of your pickup, if you dont already have those...

This is also a good point. The yokes aren't necessarily heavier (don't think there is a difference in a yoke for a CF shaft vs. a Al/CM/steel shaft), and the is probably less weight savings in the actual shaft than people think.

People buy CF drive shafts so they can tell everyone they have a carbon fiber drive shaft.

Just the advice and info I was looking for. Although a DD, I still enjoy adding power makers and those bulls balls would just be added unwanted weight. Anyways, my truck has a hard enough time hauling my nutsack around.
