InTheZone Good points although I dont agree with 4 or 6. The ones throwing insults are probably the same dudes that rice out their viper and think it's tasteful.

EllowViper I had a local Sheriff almost rear-end a car in front of him as we approached an intersection. The car next to me (in front of the Sheriff's car) did an abrupt stop to line up door to door and check me out while the Sheriff's car was expecting him to continue to accelerate past me. THe look on the Officer's face as he passed shortly thereafter was priceless!

GTS Dean True. I've also had people turning a corner almost drive into me while staring at the car.

I've almost been hit while the driver next to me was attempting to take cell pics (of my car) while driving.

ManOfStealth Been driving my gen 1 to work about three times a week. Gets a ton of attention and stares. I honestly can't remember ever seeing a gen 1 or 2 viper on the road. Very few at cars shows, and I go to many of them yearly. I think the values would go up if they became more visible. If you're owning a viper, chances are you live far from all the protesters.
I get that they are not easy to just get in and drive anywhere. I plan my trips to avoid pot holes, elevated driveways and parking once I get to a place. So get out and drive those suckers.

EllowViper I guess so. Been on a 3000+ mile trip to Wisconsin/Minnesota. Head back tomorrow. No Vipers seen of any generation. I guess that is both good and bad....

Take it for a drive to nowhere. I do a loop around Tampa, about 45 to 90 minutes. It's therapeutic.

2001GTS I know I have the same feeling, I think its just covid, we can not get out and about to enjoy them.

Also with the crazy BLM/antifa stuff going on currently, mine stays in the garage. Went to Academy and the moment I walked into the store... just had to leave worried about some "woke" person slashing a tire or what not.

EllowViper Might be listing my 01 GTS...not sure. Doesn't cost me anything to keep...but trying to downsize a bit. Tired of all the attention the car gets when I go for a drive. Seriously. Just did a GEN-IV top end conversion on the engine. COVID is keeping me from getting it tuned....UGH.

The rest was on me and what I could see and hear in person. I'm discovering new stuff as I did into the car.
I had to replace the front tires as they were 12 years old. Seller thought they were fine as the tread was still deep. I knew better and planned according. No record of fluids changes so I had them all changed asap. My drive home from the storage building was kind of terrifying. Old tires up front and unknown engine fluids. Car was all over the road and felt unstable at highway speed. Come to find out, car had wheels in wrong position and tires not in the direction they should be. Guy at discount tire fixed all that the day I bought the new front tires. Back wheels where also rotated out of place. Car drives near perfect now. Need to do an alignment real soon. Car also had old gas in it from storage. Prior just topped it off with new and sent me down the road. Ran pretty rough untill my next couple of fill ups ran through the car. May need a new fuel filter too.
Feeling pretty lucky so far. Car gets ton of attention, good and bad.
Again, would love to have a local Viper guy come see me and look her over. I'm in the DFW area. Thanks
I have had my Viper serviced at the local dodge dealer many times and Carfax only indicated service was done once.

Not sure on the year but yes. Guy could have had a "cars and coffee" event in that building with all the GTO's, vette's and others. Pretty cool collection.

I found one locally and bought it. Almost exactly what I wanted and within my budget. Looked for the right one for two plus years. Took a pandemic to get more out into the market. Mine was in a storage building just 59 miles south of me all this time. Owner was into real estate and probably took the sales money and invested in some properties. If you can find a nice condition gen 1 I'd recommend buying it. They are something else.

kyledawson Last year I remember planning to sell my Viper but potential buyers were only interested in the offer and did not want to buy it. I thought for a long time what I was doing wrong and why no one wants to buy my car. My friend decided to help me with this and found this site on the Internet. This service helped me put my vehicle up for sale and immediately after the ad was published I found several real buyers who offered good money for my car. Then I realized that the most important marketing tactic is to find a good platform to sell. I found and was able to execute the transaction with success

Sold my 96 GTS in just a few weeks last year for a fair amount. Wasnít bombarded either. 2 guys and maybe 2 dealers making offers. First guy decided on another car. Second guy bought.
If your car is a hard sell, itís simply overpriced!

I will then proceed to McDonalds drive-thru, spill fries everywhere, leave trash on floor, then take photos of interior, some of which may be upside down. I will point out that it has a great sound system, navigation, commanded by a trained voice (1st generation Clarion AutoPC from 1997). Original throttle cable clip. Upgrayedd Radiator for the desert cruise. There will be a short video filmed in 240p vertical video of the exhaust with me saying "dope."
I even bet your turbo hot side is rusty, brakes have 35% pad left and 10% of your power is left in the tune.
