In my case only one each was needed, I see no reason you couldn't stack them.

The doors are supposed to stay open? Is that a GEN2 feature? Mine flop like a YJ Wrangler.

How much tension is on the spring in the full open position? I can wiggle off my spring easily with my hands when the hinge is up/extended.

Time spent working on a viper fix...
* The time spent thinking about it... BIG FUN
* The time spent designing it... BIG FUN
* The time spent procuring materials... FUN
* The time spent setting up... FUN
* The time spent fabricating and installing... MOST FUN
* The time spent for take down and clean up... LESS FUN

Not trying to distract from the fact it was a good inexpensive "fix," but I always add the value of my time in when pursuing modified used parts versus just replacing with new. This one works when you have time and no money. Or at least no desire to spend it lol.
You think I could take the used set I pulled off, modify them, and sell them as near mint?
|
I think you could sell them as improved, version 2.0, updated, competition version, track tested, approved by,and indorsed by.

That's not OEM.
Anywho, they're only $100 each. But regardless, nice fix, that probably took $300 of time lol.

Quick cheapo hood sag fix
On my winter wish list fix was to repair the weak hood springs that lost some of their tension over the years. I really didn't want to spend $260.00 + for a new set so I came up with a quick fix......for now.
