lazytaper I've had seven.

85 CJ7, 98 TJ, 2002 TJ, 2004 TJ Rubicon, 2007 JK Rubicon, 2009 JKU Rubicon 2013 JKU Rubicon.

I will always have a Jeep. I can't say I've had as good of luck as everyone in this thread. The TJs were rock solid and the most dependable, well-built vehicles I have ever owned. The JKs have dramatically worse build quality and it's hard to tell they were made by the same company, honestly. I lemon lawed the 07 and the 13 is not any better but I don't feel like dealing with the hassle of replacing it (in that fashion). I still love it with all the flaws. I know nobody can understand that if they haven't had one....

Half doors rock!

Jeep Causes Surge in Chrysler Sales

By Paul Ausick

Chrysler Group’s year-over-year sales rose 20% again in August to 198,379 units, the company’s best August sales level since 2002. The Chrysler, Jeep and Ram Truck brands all posted year-over-year gains in the month, with the Jeep brand posting a sales gain of 49% and its best August sales ever with 68,766 units sold.

Jeep sales were higher for the Patriot models -- up 27% to 9,120 units -- and the Wrangler -- up 14% to 17,988 units. These venerable nameplates are basking in the glow of the Jeep Cherokee, which has been a big seller for Chrysler since its introduction last October.

The Ram pickups posted a gain of 33% year-over-year with 43,775 units sold. That is their best August since 2003. Adding in the cargo vans, Ram brand sales were up 39% year-over-year.

The company continues to claim that sales of the all-new Chrysler 200 are building. Month-over-month sales are up 39%, but year-over-year sales are down 7%. Overall the Chrysler brand is up 4% year-over-year and had its best August since 2007.

Like all U.S. carmakers, Chrysler sells more light trucks than it does cars, and its light truck sales rose 28% year-over-year in August. Car sales slipped 3% and are down 18% year-to-date in 2014. Truck sales are up 30% year-to-date and total sales are up 14% through the first eight months of 2014.

Chrysler projected a seasonally adjusted annual rate of sales from all manufacturers at 17.4 million units for 2014, well higher than last month’s projection of 16.8 million. The company ended the month with 64 days supply of inventory, down from 72 days of supply at the end of July.

1fast400 I've had my rubicon since 09, I love it. Never had a single service issue with it while owning it. All while loading it full of mods. 45k miles on it now.

phunny I'll just go ahead and say it, Jeeps are some of the biggest pieces of shit ever. I've done just about everything you can imagine to a Jeep from the old school jeeps up until 2011-2012 model years. Sure they had some very good years and the older Wranglers are tough but besides that... That being said, Chrysler and Jeeps being the largest part of that were our bread and butter for a long time. Got rid of the 4.0l... Idiots.

SRT-8 used to be like dead even, even from a roll, now the X5M/ML63/CTT demolish it bad, I mean the damn CTT has hit 115 trap speeds, crazy as it didn't gain a ton of power but that 8 speed and weight loss made a huge difference. Don't know if we'll see a hellcat version, thought I read something on their forum that the engine bay of the Jeep is too small for the Hellcat. Makes sense, the hemi is crammed in there, while the car bays have noticeably more room.

Friend has the Cherokee, mehhh. He loves it, for whatever reason.
The weight loss has to happen, regardless of which engine ends up in the GC. The new Range Rover Sport is faster on the track than a lot of hot hatches. The 2014 was put on a major diet and it shows. Check out this video of an on track comparison done by Top Gear. Race starts at around the 5 minute mark.

For 2015 Range Rover is coming out with the SRV version, about 550 hp, better suspension, faster, 8 speed trans, etc. Just did the Ring in 8 min 14 seconds.

That is as fast around the Ring as a Acura NSX.....total game changer when it comes to SUVs.

I love the lifted Prior gen Grand Cherokees. I looked into lifting my 2012 to put 35's or 37's on and apparently there isn't much if anything available.

troublemaker My DD is a JKU Rubicon and has been the most indestructible car I have ever owned. It's not a truck, it's not a car, it's not even an SUV. It basically created the class back in the 40s and I would hope to still be on top of it. It's amazing to me that despite the fact it's the only vehicle of its kind, the last time I can remember anybody even trying to build something similar to the CJ, TJ, YJ or JK was Toyota.

sick408dakr/t Grand Cherokee and Wrangler are rock stars. The Cherokee is kicking butt regardless of what everyone has said about the looks. The little Renegade is coming and that will also be a success. Jeep can do no wrong.
