In electric cars actually built and assisted driving in use?

https://electrek.co/2021/01/09/nio-e...-battery-pack/

The governor of California brags that the state's biggest export is electric cars. No thanks to him.

China has numerous good electric car makers. They would be eating our lunch without Musk.

Quick, who is #2 in the U.S. for building electric cars?

Probably Chevy, with the POS Volt.

That Ford Mach E is getting really good reviews even against Teslas. It doesn't have the "warp speed" performance (although word is there will be more powerful models) but it's getting praised for build quality far beyond Tesla, the way it drives and handles. Everyone seems shocked at how good it is in reviews so far, especially at how it handles all around.

Juat saw this earlier, pretty fucking cool with new F150s

Like it or not, government mandates will kill off the gassers. World will be converted to all electirc personal transportation.

Not all that bad, actually. They are fast and pretty fun to drive enthusiastically. Biggest loss to traditionalists will be that thrilling motor noise, especially at higher revs.

As a consumer and someone who has had to deal with cars breaking down from standard wear and tear AND from sudden breakages: I look forward to a motor that doesn't require Eleventy-billion mechanical parts to work flawlessly together "or else." ICE versus Electric motor reliability is a no-brainer.
