Not too many updates really. Got the wing standoffs made and rear wing planned out. Wing mounts are made with a very thin alum sheet, then carbon fiber layed up on each side getting thicker as it progresses to the bottom, where the strength is needed. This was about the lightest way to mount the wing and have strength in all axis. Under the wing, as part of the latch mechanism, is where the load will transfer to the frame. This set up really shaved some weight off of the original design. At this point even with all of the extra body work and inner structures, I am at the same weight as before. Should work well and way better aero than started with.
I have been working a lot, and really just kind of burned out. Building cars for myself too many years in a row with no breaks. Just taking a little time off to learn a new trade, so I can semi retire and then make more time to finish my projects.
I ran across options trading about 7 months ago and decided to take professional classes. I got addicted very quickly and have already surpassed my teachers, and veteran mentors. In 5 months I have managed to come up 3450% in the demo (everything is live, just not hooked to $ account yet). So right now all focus is on that and getting ready to go live very soon. The numbers I am hitting are straight retarded, but it seems to be something that comes natural to me. So ya, practice making $250k a day, or work on my car. Lol. The choice was simple.
Once I am settled into trading and my other businesses are fazed out, I will have time to get back on this.
The current 1UZ might be hitting the trash, and I have fallen in love with the Benz V12 twin turbo motors. I run a really good chance it will even bolt up to the Porsche trans! Located all of the parts and aftermarket ecu including a 4 disk clutch to hold the stupid 950ftlbs torque! It will actually be cheaper to do than the full build of the 1UZ since the V12 motor is already built for boost and stock turbos can crank up to 850hp and roughly 950ftlbs without cracking a valvecover! The sound will be abnoxious too!
Here is a couple pics of the wing and front canards I made. I wrapped the front pieces in spread toe cf that looks much better in person. I have nearly enough to wrap the whole car, and am considering it. Project definitely not abandoned, but work before play for abit longer.
