2015 Challenger

Looks like it was "leaked" (I'm sure it was a mistake) early.

2015 Dodge Challenger Comes In Eight Trim Levels, None Of Them Supercharged

No mention of the supercharged Hellcat version yet. Hopefully they just wait until tomorrow to unveil. New interior is MUCH improved. I like the exterior too!

At first, I thought that was a Charger interior, but I can see the Shaker hood in there. NICE! I like the updates - the 71 touches are nice. Like the rims too. Overall a nice update!

They did a good job. The exterior updates are perfect.

The interior is much better but the only thing I don't like is how they split the center stack. It looks un-natural.

Because the 392 is not SRT specific we know for sure the 6.2 SC will be the new SRT model. Pricing is going to be a bit higher I'm thinking about 60-65k. I hope they break the Mustang GT500's power out put to bring the trophy home to Mopar.

Regardless it will be a nice daily/weekend you. Its a shame about the weight though. Thank God they loose the POS 5sp auto.

Too bad they never put the all Aluminum Hemi in there. Maybe they'll do two SRTs, one with a 426, Aluminum hemi and one with the Hellcat?

It would be nice to see a 426 Hemi come out and take on the Z/28 but doubt it will happen. My biggest hope is they get the car down to 3500-3600lbs.

That will only happen if the Challenger goes on a completely brand new stand alone platform.

This refresh should have happened in 2011/2.

If they would have done "composite" ie: fiberglass (with foam core), roof , hood, finders, trunk rear 1/4 panels they might have gotten close just replacing those panels. Being the Challanger so heavy there are a TON of places to take weight out while not taking away any street manners.

Challenger never did anything for me, drove like a boat vs others. It's an oddball in the class as its so much bigger and heavier, which does mean more space inside for a big coupe. I like the interior on this refresh though. I'd still take the 15' 5.0 Stang. Though I hope hellcat engine is in it as it'll be interesting to see what Ford and GM offer.

Seriously this is Dodge's answer to the new Mustang and Camaro? Yes, the "new" challenger looks better, but I don't see how that pig will ever compete with the other brands. For now it appears destined to remain an ethnic car, much like the Charger and 300s.

I'll wait for the Hellcat, but Dodge needs a full blown re-design. Soon.

Even if you strip the car, it's heavy as hell. Just look at the drag pack versions

I don't think the Challenger is really supposed to be a direct competitor to the Camaro and Mustang. It's a usable muscle car, not an impractical pony car. Room for 4, huge trunk, great looks, and a ton of power. It's a car to drive across a continent. Think of it kind of like a BMW 6 series.

For me, when I look at a Mustang or Camaro, I wonder what the point is. They aren't more practical than a purpose-built sports car, so why not just get a sports car? On the other hand, I've considered buying a Challenger before because it checked enough boxes off for me.

Agreed with 1fast400...not gonna make it a light car.

BTW, I heard they didn't announce the Hellcat today. Just the non-SRT versions. DAMN THEM FOR MAKING ME WAIT!

^ Dodge feels differently. They very much consider the Challenger a competitor to the Mustang and Camaro.

The 392 is no longer a SRT engine. That means hellcat is about to claw its way out of the bag.

Agree the Challenger is never going to be light. But they could pull 300-400lbs out of it cheaply. The newer Challanger does "feel" lighter than the 1st gen so I'm looking forward to driving the new SRT with the hellcat in it.

BUT the S/C adds almost 140# to the front of the car and it is up high weight, that is why the GT500 is not as good a track car as the Boss was.

the challenger always looks too tall, too big, and has skinny tires. just looks awkward to me. The interior looks great though

That's why I hope they couple that supercharger with an Aluminum block. If they could keep the weight the same, but have another 200 HP, that would be great!
