I don't get the hate. they paid for a fucked up GT. fixed it. changed some things to suit their tastes, and I think it came out looking pretty fucking good. I've had bagged vehicles most of my life. most drove and rode very nicely. my truck is factory bagged. my first and 3rd vehicles were bagged (both factory) and they handled well for what they were. a shop guy has a slammed 2 door blazer that rides very nice (surprisingly) I think it has everything to do with suspension design and build quality. will it bring half a billion at auction. who cares....it's not your car, you aren't buying it....so why do you honestly care? it's like the guy who put up a gen 1 the other day for 60k....WITH a rebuilt title. who gives a fuck. he owns it, he sets the price. want it, negotiate with him, but ultimately the price he puts on it is the price.

I dig the GT and if I had the means to own it, I would rock it as the show built it without any questions in my head. and I would drive the fucking wheels off of it.

It looks cool, gave them a ton of attention (good and bad) and that's what it's about. If you want a factory one, go buy one. It was totaled, so what would have happened to it otherwise? Who cares if it can't race around a road course, 5% of owners have probably done that. Even fewer at this point.

Love them or hate them, the PR crew behind gas monkey's has done an unreal job.

I haven't watched many episodes but I saw the GT40 build and it was cringe worthy imo.

Check out the brutal comments on this article... The internet is an angry place... ahahha

I think the car looks great, but it not going to bring stock FGT money. In the episodes Richard was saying he could get half million for it. A wrapper Heritage car goes for that money.

I was just saying if he thinks that and puts a high reserve on it, it will not sell. Non frame damaged repaired salvage cars are going for160-180. I saw a badly damaged car go for 130 on crankyape.

I really like it. A wrecked red and white GT finished is worth 190-200k. So anything above that will be for the looks, power, and the fact it's a TV car.

Properly setup and dialed in, air suspension can keep up with a decent coil over setup. A quality setup has by nature a progressive spring rate (preferrable IMO), and combined with adjustable shock bound and rebound, and ride heights etc - is almost infinitely variable/tunable. AMG have been using it for years and they are quite effective on real roads and not useless on tracks either.

Give it another 5 years, it's just not popular at your local track yet.

Sold for $235k. Bet they had more in it than that. Not bad for salvage car.
