For the noob trying to change plugs.

Noob here. So I took on the plugs and wires project. First time doing that in any engine with more than four cylinders. Odd angles make this more difficult than engines with plugs on top. So learn from my experience.
1)Change one wire at a time. 2) Gently place the plugs into their holes. I was hasteful in my attempt on several plugs and actually bumped the spark plugs tip on the surround area. So much so it changed the gap. Once I buttoned up the rest, I stared the car. Ran like it had a miss. Rechecked all the wire connections and still ran iffy. Only after pulling a bank of plugs did I discovered the gap issues. Those that are expirianced mechanics will probably find this funny. Those noobs like me might find this info helpful.

At least you're tackling the job.

Interesting story. Have a friend that installed a 5.0 Turbo V8 in his 1st gen RX7 pushing 8psi. [email protected] at the track, drove around for a year like that. Eventually he convinced me to go for a ride. I said "This should be a LOT faster." (I had a 240Z with almost identical setup).

I looked at his plug configuration. He had a H.O. cam but wired for non-H.O. firing order. A few switcharoos and instantly went from about 200hp to over 500whp. I imagine his fuel economy improved as well. His traps went into the 130's.

Pulled out the Plugs?

Now that you took the spark plugs out and leaked sparks all over the place, you did clean them up with a OEM mopar branded sparks towel and refilled with new Synthetic Sparks to replace the spent old ones you had exhausted? Be sure to Lube the muffler bearing at the same time...
