My dosage of BP meds is very low, and even being that, it was keeping it down to normal levels. My monitor saves each reading with time and date stamp so I can go back and see.
Forgot. cholesterol, normal. Nothing at all is high except for BP.
My back injury and stress from that was making it high, but the 20-12.mg once a day took care of that. Now it just decided to once again jump up. I was good for many months, last 6 or so.
Seeing Dr next week, he wants to see what my BP is over that time frame.
Wow, talk about being all over the place with my reply!
Started taking my Lisinopril-HCTZ again. Lets see how this goes.
Same as me no history of heart disease, drs. could find no underlying cause, echo cardio gram came back great they even ultra sounded my corotid artery which was clean. They put me on Lisinopril (among others) also 20 mg. 2x a day.
I say fuck it. Double up on the fried pork chops, mashed taters and gravy, and extra butter on the cornbread. That's what I did today and my blood pressure was 110 over 75. It also helps to make your blood nice and slippery, so it just slides right on through those tiny capillaries.
In the plant, if we see high pressure in the line, we automatically assume there's a blockage in the line. We just blow the lines with high pressure air and we're good to go. Just get the doctor to blow out the lines and you'll be good as new.
That's unusually high for resting BP.
Seriously , Go to your primary care ASAP or your family will be putting
your car in the classifieds within 3-4 years. Some blood work and perhaps a EKG , stress test seem in order. Get the proper meds and your on track . Diet and exercise will help A LOT also.
Your Primary FIRST !!!
I'm a physician BTW.
Good luck...
Dang...that's a high BP.
On another note, I was just diagnosed with Afib. Luckily all my other factors are normal....good BP, good heart rate, good Chl, etc.
I never would have known, if I hadn't gone in for a routine physical.
Exercise? I never stop moving, even when I should be sleeping. Calorie intake less than 2k a day. Very little salt use. Could use to lose some. No more flat stomach, but not huge.
Was on BP meds, just stopped taking them when I had my "deal" with my BP dropping to double digits for both numbers last year. That along with headaches that had me holding my head and pressing so hard on the sides it felt better if it was to POP! Add in last clue, body temp dropping to 95.5 and staying there with me having cold sweats all the time feeling like I am on fire.
Cause? None found! Drs and Specialists found zip.
No heart problems in family at all.

Stress.......yep, like everyone else. Nothing I can't handle.
I think Denny let me "borrow' a bad sheep and it gave me something. Thanks Den.
Adrenal tumors can cause uncontrolled water retention and super high blood pressure. Get checked
ACE inhibitors - like lisinopril are great - just beware that around 10% of people will develop an allergic dry cough - that will drive you crazy. In that case get your doctor to change to a similar med in the ARB group - or something else .
Unless your allergic to aspirin or have a history of ulcers , GI bleeding , or hemorragic stroke - like SoCal ---- take an 81mg aspirin daily. Most strokes are ischemic - due to clots or low blood flow.
Aspirin is cheap insurance against most strokes and heart attacks

Seriously, go to the doctor. First of all get on some BP meds. Definitely lose weight (if that's applicable to you) and cut down on sodium. It may be a family history issue in which case the lifestyle changes alone aren't going to drop it sufficiently so getting on some meds stat is critical.
I'm on Lisinopril 2 x 20 mg, Colonodine .02 x 4, Spirolacatlol (diuretic for water retention) 1 x 50mg and a new med Labetalol 200 mg. x 2. I used to be on a beta blocker Metaprobalol but my BP spiked to often so my doc put me on Labetalol which is an alphabeta blocker and all's good now.

There is a caution for patients on clonidine and beta-blockers
- Don't miss doses of clonidine or you might experience rebound blood pressure spikes - or if they discontinue clonidine , do it gradually(taper off)
