Need info on viper

Hey, I am new to the forum, and I am about to buy an '03 viper srt10. I was wondering if the viper is a good car to modify for performance. I will start with the basic bolt-ons, then eventually get heavier duty stuff, but I was just wondering if the car accepts mods pretty good and if I can make it into a high horsepower road beast without swapping engines. Also, why is the 03' rated at 505 hp and 525 lbs torque and the 06' at 510 and 535. Did dodge do anything to squeeze a little more hp and torque out of the engine? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

The way they rated HP changed so Dodge re-tested and the new number was given (510). No diff between the motors..... until '08 when they will go to 600 HP.

If you plan to go over 600 ish you will need to change the pistons to forged from cast... besides that you are good to go!

Ok, thanks Cody. would you recommend the srt10 to be a good car to "sup up." I used to have a 350Z that i modded quite a bit, and I barely got any hp gains. That car sucks if you want to mod it. How does the viper do with mods?
