If the work was done by Phil's Twardowskij's place in Houston, then it's probably something that wasn't done right. I'm not sure if he's still in business or not, or if it's the same outfit. CXI, I believe, stood for Conversion Xtras, Inc.
Does anybody really know what happened to that jackass? I heard that he did end up in prison, but never get the real story. Enquiring minds want to know... well at least this one.
Sorry to dig up this ancient thread, but I used to work for this guy. I found this thread through a google search of this asshole. Man, I've got some stories about this dude. His super-crooked practices ultimately resulted in he and I having several heated discussions and my inevitable leaving of his 'company'.
Before anyone hates me, know that I rarely worked on any of his cars. He wanted to get into doing cylinder heads, so I started doing LS1/6 and LT1/4 heads for him. I had a little mobile home 'office' in the back of his shop that we were going to turn into a small machine shop for heads. Promises of seat and guide machines and flowbenches were plentiful. The only equipment I ever got was a spring-pressure checker, and that got re-po'd. I had to take everything to a friends shop to do the machine work, and Phil very reluctantly gave my friend a cut. It was not a good situation at all. My heads flowed well and everything was spec'd out perfectly. He would hang them on his wall. He would sometimes have me polish up stock ports and say they were for 'display purposes'. Later on I realized he was installing these cleaned up, stock, junkyard heads as 'Stage-3 ported heads'.
Anyway, if anyone has any new info on this bastard, I'd love to hear it. I saw his 'wife' Judy working as a door greeter at the Cracker Barrell in Katy about a year ago. Pretty funny. I said hi to her and she pretended not to know me, even though she would cry as Phil and I would argue in his office.
CXI was crap and Phil was/is a crook. He fucked my friend over on a blower as well as a number of other mods. My friendly nearly beat the hell out of him. I told my friend not to go there but he didnt listen. As far as I know Phil is in prison right now.
He was arrested twice in the 4 months I was employed there. Each time he spent about a week in jail. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was indeed in a fed or state prison.
Phil worked on my 1997 C5 and it was a miserable experience.
GL64, I ran into Jay Schuster at G-Force Motorsports in Pearland and gave him my 2003 Z06. Put a shortblock/supercgharger setup in it, made some good numbers. Those guys did an EXCELLENT job.

One of his guys that worked for him fucked up alot of shit. I saw with my own two eyes cause I worked there too. He had know idea any of that was going on. He closed his shop because of that and he felt really horrible for everything. so he picked up from where he was closed everything and went back home and so did my grandma. Ya'll just didn't know him like I did. Ya'll are all some fucked up people.
