In early '06, I sent a pair of very clean polished wheels into HRE for widening; had coordinated the work with Chuck. When I received the wheels back, they looked as if they had been used off-road. I emailed a few digital pictures of the beaten-up wheels to HRE sales, and obtained very good service from Guy. I understand these were probably the last wheels Chuck ever touched while at HRE. If you have ever been to HRE, you know it's a very small shop, with several CNC machines. Chuck was responsible for all rebuilds. Unfortunately, HRE did not realize that Chuck was causing them problems, but when this came to their attention, it didn't take them long to show him the door.
I'm a lurker on this forum, as I don't own a Viper. My daily driver is a C5 Meth injected F1R 427. I have recently cancelled an order for an '07 Z06, tired of waiting, and realized that I like the Viper more. I'm waiting for Jan. '08 production to see what's new. Would like to purchase a Viper at that time, making it my daily driver, but I'm 6.6, and will need to see what tricks can be done with the seat.
HRE, this is all it takes to turn off multiple customers! I was seriously considering the 547's and now I won't just from this. Don't forget what made you successful - your customers. The day you quit putting them first, they will put you last. This post cost you my $5000.
Well I was going to purchase the HRE 547R's this summer. That's not only $5000, but my $5000 aswell because after this post I will not be. I will be looking at some similar iForged rims. I talked to John the other day at HRE, he seemed nice but after this post I will not be. Customer satisfaction to any business owner should be first priority! You lost some, you win some, but at the end of the day, customer satisfaction will get you on top of the game!
I am new to vipers, Im picking up my all-stock '00 GTS in a week and already thinking about new wheels and parts. I have always wanted and dreamed of HRE's, but after reading such terrible testimonies of their service on this and other threads, their brand name just went down the tube for me.
You would think that the premium $ you pay for HRE's not only pays for a quality product, but also towards the quality service that you will recieve. I guess not.
Payment by cashiers check?? Sounds shady. Maybe they lost their merchant account.

I have just joined Viper Alley. I am recently the PROUD owner(to say the least) of a 2001 Viper GTS. I have just finished reading "Roe Supercharger" and "HRE Wheels Inc." It does not look good for me with my 10 lb. Roe and my HRE 541 wheels with the rusting bolts does it?

The Roe and the bolts are the least of your worries bro! Psssst, come closer... You need to watch out for the giant neg rep buttons that are closing in on you as we speak. Good Luck...... INCOMING!!!
This is a warning for those buying HRE wheels - any other wheel from Racehype or also called wheelsperformance in Miami.
I ordered a set of 595R wheels with tires and pressure monitors from these guys for my CL63 in early July.
- I wired 50% of the amount right away.
- Wheels were ordered
- I was told it would take 4 to 6 weeks
- I was then told it would take maybe 7 weeks
- I was asked to pay the additional 50%
- I was then told that the wheels had arrived and would be mounted and balanced
- Was told they had been shipped to me in late September
- A week later I started calling and emailing every day, initially the guys would answer, now they don't even call back.
I called HRE - nice on the phone - and they checked. Wheels were ordered late, were manufactured and never left the factory, no tires mounted, no pressure monitor AND THEY WERE NEVER PAID FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those assholes, kept my cash and didn't pay the wheels
The guy(s) at wheelsperformance - certainly Luis the guy I am dealing with - are absolute liars and scam artists. What should I do? I am in Europe.
Thanks
G.

I am 6'6" too. I fit fine in vert and coupe without a seat lowering kit. It is a little claustrophobic in the vert with the top up though..
