Just picked up an o8 vert blk on blk, cars pretty kill, only problem is when i get on it motor dies out and throws a check engine light!! any ideas??? car has like 50kms on it ..only when i matt the pedal the car pwr is dwn major barely wants to rev up...i had to turn it off for a bit then it wrked fine untill i stabed the gas again..now the check engine light is on full time.
I guess we are not worried about breaking in the motor before flooring it. Regardless, it should not do that. I'm sure it is something minor. Make sure your gas cap is secure.
Actually, after a proper warm up thats what you want to do for the first 25 miles... the force of accelerating from slow or no speed to high speeds expands the piston rings creating a tighter seal and prevents blow by and other problems caused by rings that didn't seal well on initial break in.
Anyways I'm sure the dealer will be able to take care of whatever is causing it to die like that. My guess is something with the PCM or throttle position sensor or the throttle by wire set up on the 08's.
im gonn break it in for sure just wanna atleast feel the pwr a lil, instead after about 4500 rpm the car has a check engine light, no big deal the dealers on it..im drivein out to whistler today so i guess this will be a perfect time to put sum break in miles on it.

Whistler has some seriously good biking and skiing. I hope you're taking advantage of that not to mention slopestyle is coming up soon too.
