The usual insurance break comes at 25, but it still depends on your insurance company. It isn't really an age thing, it has to do with accumulated years of driving experience. The break at 25 assumes you've been driving, and with a relatively clean record, since age 16. Having said that, I've owned different Vipers since my early 20's and as third or fourth cars, the insurance has never been more than about $100 per month regardless of my age at the time. If you are really concerned about insurance call your carrier and get a quote.
I'm 26, and I dont own a viper. The nicest 2 cars I've owned are an M5 and 996. I sold the 996, and soon, the M5 too. I bought them on impulse and it wasn't the smartest decision. I should have used the money for a down payment on a house. But hey, when you're young, you're dumb. Hindsight is 20/20. I told myself I'll never sell the Dino because I've put too much time (and $) into it, but I haven't touched it in 3 months, and have lost total interest in it. I'm a 100% german car fan, and my next love is a 68-73 bug. What can I say, I'm a cheap-skate lol. I had a 71 baja as one of my first cars and loved it.

In my opinion: Young Age + Viper = DEATH If I had a Viper when I was 16, I wouldn't be here typing this. Young kids like to do stupid SH*&.... Like Show Off. Having a kid, who has next to NO driving experience, drive a 500 horsepower MONSTER with no traction control is a scary scary scary thought. Would be different maybe if the kid was racing CART since he was 14 or younger. Oh well, more Vipers that die... the more rare ours become.
One other thing... houses where I live start at 1 MILLION. One bedroom Condos cost 300K+. No thanks. I'll buy a condo and drive a VIPER. Houses don't cost 300K in the DC area, NY city area or several other high dollar areas. Sadely I'm stuck here for a few more years.
