New MGW shift kit, not just the knob, the whole shifter. Nice piece, changes the sideways loading to eliminate missed shifts. TeamTech harnesses, sill plates, some poser interior MGW stuff. Full Clearbra all around. Thought about the Quaife but Archer said he could not tell the difference between his Comp. Coupe with the Quaife and the ACR with the new rear end. Thought about the complete Belanger system but decided to keep it bone stock in case I feel the need to debate some quarter mile times with a couple elite Z06 guys we have in the region. Their claims have always been bone stock. Quaife kinda fell in that logic path also. If one was not worried about that kind of issue I suggest going for the Belangers, Mark says they are good for 70HP. Super bang for the buck. Also very LOUD, really loud. I have Belangers, Random Tech high flows and a Mopar rear on my GTS and I can't imagine how loud that would be if it came out right beside your ear as side pipes.
After hearing all the sound clips of the 08 I really wanted to start with stock and work my way up as the 08 sounds a lot nicer than the 06 stock, significantly louder and a much better tone. And if I happen to eventually come upon a Z06 I don't want him to be able to claim I'm modded and he ain't.

Sounds good. I'll def. go w/the shift kit, different rear gear then big mod's planned..
Motor and Drivetrain will come out.
Personally I've been planning on forged pistons, belanger headers/exhaust, cf center console, and 3m protection all around as well. I was giving a lot of thought to the MGW shift kit, but haven't really researched it enough... Does it make for a slicker/smoother shift, Lee?

Why would you just do forged pistons? If your gonna put a FI on it, that would make sense, but not with just headers.
Anyone care to guess how long it will be until the test car-colored red/black with red driver's stripe cars are built? I'm still in D1...
Don't they shut the plant down and end current model production in July? If that's the case, then it still needs to get the stripe. How long does that currently take?
I highly recommend the shift kit and it ain't very expensive either. Much better feel and eliminates the tendency to load the wrong way when shifting leading to a missed shift. I rarely missed a shift in my other Vipers and always seemed to be able to get the clutch in on the rare occaision I did but it's nice not to have to concentrate quite so hard and have the shifter do what it should do naturally. I think it was under $500 for the shift kit and the real nice custom shift knob and shaft.
Red cars are being buiilt now so it's just the time to get to prefix for the aero stuff and striping which was slow for me but I would not worry about production being shut down any time soon, one estimate is 08 production might run through December 08. Maye Bill P. might clarify that.
