Opinion/Comparrison on 1/8 mile Track Times

Was looking for your opinion and/or comparisons on first times ran at a local 1/8 mile track based on my mods. Mods are an 05 Copperhead with Paxton S/C, Corsa Exhaust, 3:55 gears, Alluminum flywheel, short throw shifter, PS2's set to 24psi, and Racelogic traction control (T/C) unit. SCT tuned and dyno'd 682rwhp and 630 TQ.

With the traction control set to @21% I still kept slightly spinning, but believe the unit slowed me down. I trapped a few runs of around 92mph with times averaging 8.3. The 60 ft times were around 2.1. I thought this was kind of slow.

Frustrated, I turned off the T/C and ran a best:
60 ft - 1.98
1/8 - 7.92 at 98 mph

I kept spinning the wheels 3/4 down the track. The track didn't seem well prepped after noticing AWD vehicles spinning as well. But still, do these times seem slow and any suggestions other than slicks?

1. Get a G-Tech.

2. Find safe "back road" with minimal traffic.

3. Practice 0-60. Practice 0-60. Practice 0-60. (repeat)

It's all in the launch. Practice your launch. Althought the street is totally different from the (sticky) track... You will still learn how to feather when necessary and when to lay in the throttle. So that when you go back to the track, you will be better prepared. Practice short runs to perfect your launch. No need to risk anything ad higher speeds. Stay safe.
