Hey everyone. I went out and bought the 2008 viper yesterday and love it!!! Can someone please give me some advice about how to avoid scratching up the spoiler. I pulled into my driveway the first time and scraped the spoiler signficantly, ouch. Any suggestions would be appreciated after the money i plopped down i really don't want to leave part of my car on the driveway every time i pull in. Thanks in advance.
It's all about ANGLES when you pull into drives. Any driveway, gas station, parking lot, etc... you need to hit the entrance at about a 45 degree angle. You also need to kinda "Navigate" your route before you drive it. Prepare for speed bumps, regular pot holes, bad roads etc... It's a different driving experience driving a low car. Now imagine your car being lowered 2 inches....
I think member Doug@RSI is now selling the skid plates I installed on mine. They will help greatly if you scrape pulling into or out of a raised driveway.
its gonna get scratched no matter what you do. just drive it. after a while you might want to re-paint it. at that time, i would suggest you consider having the bottom of your fascia treated with the same material used for truck bed liners. then at that point you will have a very durable material that wont bet scuffed as easily. just an idea.
I'm not sure what your driveway loos like but a friend of mine had his driveway apron changed for $1500.00. He has a classic porsche and was always scraping his front fascia. Another tip might be to bridge the severely angled area with 2"x12" planks for a couple of bucks at home depot. They will also cut them to a specific length for ya.
Watch when you pull into parking spots and up to parking blocks...it is easy to underestimate the length of the front end. I definitely agree with the 45 degree approach angles...it is definitely better to not scrape at all than to scrape and have to repair...just my 2 cents.

..........and be sure to remove your licence plate when washing, and put a plastic shopping bag over the exterior mirrors so water doesn't drip down your doors!!
