Viper Factory Deliver?

Ordered a 08 Viper in January and it just left "I" status to "J" status (means it was pushed out of the factory). Does anyone know typically how long it takes for a car (Viper) to get from the factory to the dealership? I know a lot of it is up to the transport company.

Thanks

You are right about the transport company. Good thing about Dodge compared to other manufacturers is that the vehicles don't go to a "hub" and sit for weeks on end waiting for a transport. Once they leave the factory they are on their way to their destination, however the transport company and/or actual transport driver can delay the process. I'm not 100% sure that Vipers work the same as normal factory orders, but usually you are looking at about ten days at most for delivery depending on your location. I've seen deliveries in as little as three days to Central locations. Keep in touch with your dealer, they should be able to narrow it down for you. They may also be able to put a priority on your car, putting it ahead of regular inventory. Also, have them call you the SECOND that it comes in. Most dealers will "prep" your car which can sometimes take days, when it should take hours.

My 08 spent 7 days in J status... then the dealer got a call on a Thursday afternoon from the driver as he left the factory in Michigan.... the Car was at the Texas dealer before closing the next day....i live on interstate 30 at the far north east point of texas so that probably helped..

I always thought vipers were delivered by reliant 6-8 at a time but this was a private guy with a 2 car enclosed trailer...The other car on the trailer was not a viper....

Cool thanks for the info. I live in Colorado Springs, but bought the car in Houston cause my sister worked there and got me a good hook up. So it is going there first, then I'll have to get a transport company to move it up to me. No need to put a 1k miles on it right away.

So in about 2-3 weeks I should have it, it sounds like.

Oh and mine is maroon red with silver racing stripes. I like the carbon fiber in the Viper above, who do I contact to order that to install?

I'd be interested in how many SSG with the black stripes were made.

No, plan on driving it a lot. But not from Texas to Colorado. Would rather it be to a place that is different and with my girlfriend.

Not the type to spend money on a car and never drive.

Still waiting on delievery, hopefully sometime this coming week.
