I totally understand that Hennessey would mod the car before it went, and I don't blame him because its good to test your wares (sp?). However, it would have been nice to see a bone stock ACR go pull the same feat off, which I can confidently say it would have.

i think that chris and the acr could win the one lap in a bone stock acr. but when you invest the time and expense in running this thing, why would you want to take the risk of losing? thus we added minimal bolton parts and i think so far we have seen some maximum effects!
fyi, erich and ralph are running a bone stock challenger and have been dominating in their class!
still no autocross results posted yet. and its very likely that the timing and scoring people are sleeping right now. we may not know til the morning.
1tony1, boplaw and mike robbins - thanks for going out to watch and support the effort!
and i dont know what ley keen is talking about as far as certain high tech mods done to the ACR. as someone stated earlier, here are the exact mods:
hennessey 1 7/8 long tube headers with 3 inch exhaust
k&n drop in filter
less agressive suspension (factory kw system is designed for sport cups)
race seat
5-point harness
track alignment spec
used set of sidewinder wheels with 18/19 ps2 tires (oem 2008 viper spec)
that's it. if somebody is suggesting that we have some sort of traction control, gps track navigation, robotic steering system, kung-foo grip shifter, all-wheel drive, undercar suction device, then they are simply embarassing themselves by making laughable excuses. as a matter of fact, the porsche cayman has all the electronic aids and nanny's to help keep Ley out of the ditch. the only thing controlling the ACR is a driver whose skill is far superior to this whiner kid who thinks he is some sort of road race ace.
i learned a long time ago, if you get your butt kicked then just say you got beat and move on. nobody likes a whiner much less a whiner with a slow car. i like the cayman and think its a cool car. but this Ley kid is doing his best to make the cayman look more like a chick car. the kid is probably still pissed off that we beat him last year in one lap (he was in a supra) and we had a dnf (cost us 450 pts and the overall win) from a failed clutch and still beat him.

Well, there you have it. Those are slight mods...Thus, this has been my agrument as well aside frm all the ranting. If your beat, YOU'RE BEAT..PERIOD...
I've been beat so many times on the tree..but hey, I admit it right away. I not slow....trust me..
I'M UP AGAINST SOME LEGENDS...

Let me be 100% clear that I support what you did. You have a business that sells upgrades and it would be silly to campaign a car without your technology to show its worth. I also agree that adding that little bit of excess to guarantee the victory is a smart move. I was simply stating it would be cool to see a bone stock ACR (which would be nearly as fast) beat all the modded cars so the bragging rights would be that much better. If I were you, I would have done exactly what you did.
John, let me personally congratulate you guys for running a stellar campaign so far.

Did you catch where he said if they were in their Supra this year, they would be winning. What a whiny bitch he is.
Queen Ley-a should spend more of his time trying to figure out how to do better in the race and less time playing internet spank board moderator on how the GTR compares to the Porsche.
And let me also say that if I thought that running traction control or strapping on a jato rocket would help us win then i would do it. the reality is that we had very little time to do anything to the car. and i think the key to succeeding in one lap is having a simple, solid car that is dead nuts reliable. to finish first you must first finish (every event). add in a great driver, and lets see where we are tomorrow. i say 12 for 12.
Man, what a shame that such emphasis is put on the wet skid pad. Yes, I understand that a poor showing is a poor showing, but isn't this the heralded One Lap of America race?
If it were the Bunch of Circles in the Rain race, then for sure we could put a lot of merit into the poor skid pad showing.
But 9 out of 9 first place finishes in road course races is just about as one sided as the Anola Gay versus Hiroshima back in 1945.
"and guys... while i was posting riding in the car... we hit a deer at about 50....
we are done....
i will talk more tomorrow
dam....."
Kharma's a real bitch. Frankly, I would have loved to see you spank him fair and square.
what a clown. maybe if he was helping his driver watch the road rather than surfing the spank boards, he might have seen the critter. we spanked him fair and square. i would guess that on most road courses those guys werent within 20 sec. of the ACR's times.
better luck next year. i will predict that if queen ley-a comes back to one lap next year that he is running an ACR.

Doesn't take long for things to hit here. I was just gonna post that thinkin I would be the man with the big news, lol. Who knows, maybe they will pull it together, its easy to say "fuck it" we are done when you are all pissed standing there. Either way the rightful winner is gonna win. I would give an earily congrats but don't wanna jinx you either.

He seemed to be supportive of the GTR. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in one of those next year.
queen leh-a, if you are reading this, i hope you and your co-driver are ok. and i hope you can get back in the race as we need your help gaining points on davia. nice finish by the way in the auto-x. we only beat you by 6 seconds there. we took first again, the queen leh-a cayman got 2nd and the leading davia porsche got 4th.
i will tell you right now that this deal is going down the wire. davia has won the one lap 4 years in a row for good reason. he is consistently fast and cool under pressure. we will continue to gain points on him but with queen leh-a out and going to tracks where davia is really good, its going to be harder for us to gain more than 5 points at each event.
we might gain 15-20 points tomorrow at vir. and maybe another 15-20 points on friday at beaver run. then that puts us back on the skidpad on saturday. this is gonna be close.
oh and one last thing, Chris and the ACR have now won 10 out of 10 road course (autocross) events. and at this point i dont see any reason why he wont win the next 6 road course events over the next 2 days.
