Sweet. There must be a large gap between 1,2,3 if "we" (useing that loosly) are still 110 out. Seems what matters most is that they do bad. Good luck and hope we can pull off the win.
Chris and the ACR just finished the first race session at No Problem. Our preliminary numbers show the ACR 8 seconds ahead of the Davia Porsche. So we are going to gain some points this morning but wont know if its 5 or 10 points til the official results are posted.
The ACR continues its dominance of the One Lap winning 6 out of 6 road race events so far. Still a lot of racing left to go and we still have over a 100 point gap between us and first place. But I like our chances to come from behind and win this thing overall!
We won the 2nd session at No Problem. We are now 7 for 7 on road courses. Also, I just found out that they are going to run the 1/4 mile at No Problem today too (make up for the rainout at lonestar yesterday). They are just going to run for low ET but they dont have enough time to run the bracket race.
Chris has never run down a dragstrip before. So I dont think we are going to see the ACR set low ET. Will report the results when I hear more.
Are they going to let you guys run DR's or anything like that for the quarter?
no, you have to run the same set of tires for the entire event. street tires only, no sport cups, hoosiers, etc.
just spoke to chris. he ran 11.8 on dragstrip with no prep. not bad for a guy who never ran down a dragstrip before in his life. davia's porsche was quicker so we likely gave some points back after kicking his ass again on the road course twice today. so davias car is definately making power and running right.
we ended up gaining some points on the leader today but not as many points as we had hoped for. the come from behind overall win just got a lot harder. but i have no doubt that chris and the acr will continue to show everybody who is boss on the remaining road course events.
check the one lap site tonite for the official results from todays events.
Well I'm mostly concerned with the road course events. If the ACR rules hard on that venue I'd consider it as a job well done, regardless of its performance in other areas.
John
pulled this of 6speed, it is a quote from one of the drivers of one of the porsches, not sure which, i think it is a GT3
"the viper.. i think you guys should know... is not a stock ACR... and we also found out to day.. its ECU is tied into steering angle.. the rear dif is electronic.. and it has traction control system.... all working together... so its a beast...."
I didn't know tech like this existed for vipers, e-diff linked to ecu taking input from steering angle? Says he saw the hardware , i think. If you have the goodies, share........my guess is he is just looking for an excuse for the viper schooling him

John has a magic ACR. You know he had like a full 2 days to prep it. Easily enough time to slap on a bunch of high tech stuff and hide it!!
the official results for the day are in. we took 2 more first place finishes on the road course at no problem today. and in doing so we gained 20 pts on the leader.
they ran the 1/4 mile drag race for low et and we got 3rd there. the porsche got 1st running 11.5 and we ran 11.8 @ 129 mph. decent for a driver with no drag experience on a slippery track. so we gave back 10 pts on the drags.
the net result for the day is we are now in 2nd place overall. we now trail the davia porsche by 100 pts. not bad considering we were down by 185 pts only 3 days ago. there are 7 road races, 2 autocrosses and 1 dry skidpad events left to go. we will pretty much need to take 1st place finishes the rest of the way to have a chance to catch the porsche.
i still think that chris is the guy who can drive the ACR to accomplish this come from behind win. either way, we have won 7 out of 7 road race events and none of them have been close. and i expect that trend will continue tomorrow at CMP.
