the results for the 2 events are mid america are in now. we took 2 first place overall finishes. and in the second session davia must have had a problem as he only got 9th. so we started the day 180 pts out of the lead - nearly an impossible amount to recover from. we end today 130 points out of the lead. still a long road to go and a lot of racing left. but i like the trend and the momentum that chris and rob are gaining with the ACR.
Its crazy that a poor finish in the skid pad could nearly ruin the whole week. Hope the gap closes, if it does that will mean the viper would have dominated had they been able to be competitive the first day.

Same thoughts here..I've been thinking :
Skid pad = 0
Everything else = kicked ass.
One Lap is all about consistency. We cant change the wet skidpad. However, I think that Chris and the ACR have made a pretty strong statement by taking 3 out of 3 first place overall road course finishes by significant margins. This event is a marathon and not a sprint. A lot can happen between now and the final event on Saturday. If you live near one of the tracks where the One Lappers are headed, you should go out and see the event in action. It's very exciting.
Damn. That ACR is just wiping the floor with the competition so far. Ill trade a poor score in the "WET" skidpad for 3 dominating wins on the roadcourse anytime. Even if the ACR doesnt win the overall everyone there knows who the badboy of the event is. Wish this event was televised or on DVD lap for lap.

Sure wish it was coming to Hallet this year.....great work John.

I've def. been meaning to do that. Yes, 3 out of 3 first place finishes= kicked the comp's ass..... Outstanding!!
I need to go to Sebring...problem is they have it same weekend as the GatorNationals.
I have never done a skippad, but there must be a real 'art' to it. Everyone knows the Viper sucks in the wet, but so do most big bore fe/rwd cars, so there must be more to it than that. Anyway, it will be one of the greatest comebacks in autoracing! I notice the ACR beat the GT-R by over 26 sec. [MAM was been custom made for that car. wtf?] Keep up the good work team! Chris, you are rockin!
BTW, how do they run the road course events? I presume just like a TIME TRIAL, with run groups? Is it first to the grid up front, or the car in the lead on the Overall standings?
It was a mess at TWS today. I stopped by long enough to see the first group go and the ACR looked solid even in shitty conditions (see pictures). It spun off the track, but I believe it was on the warm-up lap...I'll leave the rest to someone who knows what they're talking about.
and ya, the pictures suck...I couldn't figure out how to upload them any bigger than that
Bad news - Lonestar is rained out I am sad to say.
Good news from TWS - Chris is the Venom 650ACR took 2 more first place overall finishes today. The rain was really bad but Chris did well and won the first session by about 17 seconds. We beat Davia's Porsche by 20 seconds (2.9 mile course) in the first session and 8 seconds in the second session (1.8 mile course). I think he is still having powertrain issues.
The 2008 Dodge Viper ACR with our Venom 650R upgrade has now won 5 out of 5 road race events for this year's One Lap.
Anyway, we gained 15 points in the leaders today. We will start tomorrows events at No Problem 115 points out of the lead. We have gained 70 points in the last few days. But we will need to keep running the table with first place finishes and just have to see how the other guys at the top do. It's going to be very hard if not impossible to come from behind to win this thing overall. But I always like the underdog and that is right where we are.
If you get a chance to go to one of the upcoming events, you should do so. Chris and Rob with the ACR would love to meet you. Likewise, Chrysler design VP Ralph Gilles (Super Soul) and Erich Heuschle (Kowalski) are great guys and have Ralph's 2008 Challenger in action now. Go say hi to these guys and cheer them on!

Chris spun on the warm up lap for the first session. Thankfully he didnt go too far into the grass and was able to drive back on to the track under his own power.
As an aside, I have seen some fugly wings on car before, but that Davia Pcar has got to take the cake! Good job in 'not so favorable' conditions (to say the least)!
