Join the club!! D or D1 status now forever...."August"...What color did you order? Wonder if they'll jus make it an 09?
Its that EXACT car. Man we're SO ready to start on this guy it isn't even funny. We already have the engine management sorted and are just antsy as heck to bolt some turbos on.

John, How is that build going? Have you had her on the track yet? First impressions?
the car is pretty much built. it has our Venom 650R package on it. it's been track aligned and should get a little test time on the track and dyno tomorrow. then its headed to Tire Rack in southbend, in on thursday.
The 2008 One Lap of America race will be coming thru Texas this coming Monday. The racers hit TWS in the morning and they will be drag racing at Lonestar on Monday afternoon.
The gates will open at 1 pm and racing should begin around 3 pm. They will be running both low ET and a bracket race. Drag racing should conclude around 6 pm.
There is NO CHARGE for spectators to come out and watch. There will be a lot of cool cars in action including our 2008 Viper ACR with 678 hp as well as a new 2009 Nissan GT-R.
If you have time you should come and check this event out!

I only live a few hours from Tirerack, but as luck would have it, I was in Spokane yesterday. I am dying to hear how the ACR performed on the skidpad. The One Lap site isn't being updated, at least not yet. Good luck and thanks for the info! Keep us posted. Great effort!!!

well it was a very slow start for the ACR on the wet skidpad with a 42nd place finish for our first event. not really sure what happened there. i will guess it had to do more with our driver's first time jitters than with the car.
we just got done at road america and i am happy to report that we did much better. we ran in the first group which is the fastest cars. we passed the davia porsche that started in front of us. so we are pretty sure we finished near the top. we might have even taken a first place at road america.
we still have a lot of catch up to play but this event is a marathon and not a sprint. and if we continue to have more top finishes i think we can get back near the top before its all over.
they are headed to mid-america now (near omaha) where they run tomorrow morning.
also, the vanishing point charger is likely out of the event after a brush with the wall - bummer! kowalski is ok but the white challenger didnt fare so well.

What tires did you have on? If you were running factory Cup Sports, I would imagine they would suck. Congrats on Road America. Sounds like you the ACR is what it is cracked up to be.

Damn! Well, DRIVER means alot. I certainly don't know crap abt RR. But I do know straight line acceleration...in the Dragster weather 1000 SC or 5000HP TAD you have to get "CALM to go FAST"... Def. know what you mean abt. the "jitters" its tough, you wanna do so damn well as a competitor. WE ALL KNOW THE CAR IS THERE...I'm sure things will come together and the ACR Viper will stand proud. Good luck, thanks.
