v1 detector online?

Where is the best online site to buy the v1? I've heard nothing but good stories about them.

Buy it direct. I think thats the only way anyhow. You can also sometimes get a refurb unit from them which is basicly BRAND NEW as well but at a decent savings. They rarly have the refurbs but it's worth asking. Def. the best detector you can buy. PERIOD.

I second the motion!
Racked up about 45K miles on different Vipers and I've never even been pulled over for speeding.

i was in a car with a friend and he was doing 140 on a 70 ("i kept asking him to slow down") and he got clocked at 120 as the V1 went crazy, lit up, as the trooper turned his unit on. he got a ticket for 120 and did not get taken to jail.
so beware its not foolproof.
hos anyone tried jammers?

V1 ftw, all our vehicles have one, I don't care what anybody says or what mag comparisons say...we've had some of the competitors, the arrows are priceless. Especially with the way speed traps are setup here with multiple units, other detectors will just keep going off, V1 I know right where they are so I know if I've already passed yet or more are coming up.

The Arrows and the bogey counter are nice. Alot of cops set up next to places like Walmart with automatic doors because they know the cheap detectors will go off and the driver will think that it's just the store. When you get yours drive around where you'll go alot and kinda memorize how many bogeys are on the counter and then if you see another one you'll know it's a cop. I've been on the highway with a buddy of mine and my V1 went off and his detector didn't go off till a half a mile before the cop and by that time I dropped way back.

I have had mine since 1998. Finally started having issues with it after 10 years. Called them up and they replaced it with a brand new unit for less than $200. Best unit on the market. I would not be caught without it!

Watch out for V1 thieves as well, I had my truck broken into a few months ago (in a gated community think I have an idea of whom, teenage punk, but no proof). I had my wallet in plain view with plenty of cash in it, and two phones out including my 8525 which was a $500 phone. They didn't touch any of that, just my V1. I never leave stuff in there usually but I was leaving again that night.

I've had 2 v1's for about 5 yrs. Arrows are nice but lacks major new technology. Besides the beep that will get you 99.99% of the time will be in front of you not the side or your rear. Additionally even from the rear, the radar is bound to bounce off of something farther in front of you so any forward only detector will pick it up anyway.

Just picked up a ESCORT PASSPORT 9500I after shitload of comparison as I was loyal to v1, but it has GPS memory lock out for false alarms.. and a few other cool features in addition to most of the cool features of the v1.

Man, its so nice to be able to permanently block off the stupid false alarms, and its just as sensitive as the v1. no more beeping when passing Safeway and a dozen other falses everyday. So far I'm sold on it as being the superior unit.

Before anyone starts bashing, you can pick one up from anywhere, buy it (about 4 bills), try it , if don't like it, return it,, but you'll see what i mean. One of my v1's is about to go on ebay.

I have had my V1 for about 10 years. I probably haven't used it in about 4 years. I am sure that it still works, but should I or could I send it in to get upgraded, or is there even an upgrade for it.

where do you guys mount yours?

The V1 is awesome... saves me all the time.

I dont know about you guys, but with it I never have to worry about false alarms. First of all, if I am passing a walmart, I am not going 80 in a 40 anyway.

but either way, in my experience, false alarms are never intense... they may light it up here and there on my drive but its not a strong signal. whenever its really a cop that V1 goes ape shit from like a mile away and its painfully obvious that its a cop.

definatly not fool proof, such as when they are using laser.... but your screwed no matter what if they are using laser. it only goes off essentialy to indicate that you have already been lasered (or a Nissan or Infiniti with laser cruise control is passing you).

i have probably got a ticket or two while using this, i cant remember since i move it between 2 cars... but the number of tickets it has saved me every year i could not count on both hands.

Nice thing about laser is the jammers actually work pretty damn well...at least well enough to give you time to slow down before they can get a signal when you are close.

Great detector...however it is NOT immune from the Spectre detector-detector.

How do I know?

Trust me, I know first hand and now no longer have a V1.
