This is not an AG post and I Googled a bit, so here goes. Is there any real world reliable 1/4 mile runs between these two beats, track runs and such? My friend called me and had this ridiculous chic on 3-way that I never met talk all this smack about how the Z06 is such a better performer, meanwhile she claims to have driven it and all this horsepoop. I was under the impression the new Viper would spank it, but anyhow again this is a real thing and in this forum and not AG as I want real answers to this. I do not trust Car and Driver or the like generally, so anyhow I will shut up and perhaps direct them to this thread after some informed responses. TY Gary

Now that the prices of virtually everything are going up and up and now that thousands of people are losing their jobs everyday as the US goverment still hands out 10,000+ checks to those people just getting off the boat, I think I will take a boat ride and get in line, I sure could use the money to pay for the gas in my Viper and GTO!

The problem is that most of the idiots and children that are saying the Vette is quicker are referring to QM times. They have no idea what a road coarse is.
Are you going to bring your new toy to WS? I would love to see that thing go in person.
well let's see the previous SRT v. zo6 on a road course the SRT generally came out on top(or was prefered by drivers) now toss in nearly 100 more hp I dont think i'd spend too much time debating that one

Glad to hear it was modded as the new viper has 100hp on the Z06 so to me its not comparsion. I think the viper is an all around better car and 06 SRT was faster around the track from my view point.

Is the 08 Viper faster than the Z06 yes. Is it all around a better car? No. The 0-60 and 1/4 miles for the Z06 and 08 Viper seems to be a drivers race. Up top, the Viper will start to walk the Vette. The Vipers had done 11.01s but so has the Z06.

08 Viper outperforms Z06 in every performance category. End of story.

Why is it that Corvette owners stated when the Z06 was faster- that the "Z06 was a better car"?
And yet, now that the Viper is faster, youall claim "its a drivers race"
I belong to a Corvette Club and also own a Viper. Without a doubt, Viper owners seem to be better at handling their cars. It's the worst display of missed shifts and botched launches every year at the All Corvette Drags.
