Question 08 Heads on a Gen 3 Motor?

Does anyone know if the 08 heads will fit on a Gen 3 motor?

THANKS!

From what I have seen and understand, they will bolt on but you will need a gen4 intake and some custom throttle bodies (08 is electronic throttle). You will need to adapt the idle air motor to be used on the intake as well (idle is controlled through the throttle bodies on 08). The injectors have been moved to the heads so you will also need fuel rails. You might also need to change push rods.

Talk to Greg Good! I heard he is working on a package for 08 heads. The new heads are awesome as far as flow and potential.

They will bolt onto a Gen 2 and Gen 3 block, but then the fun starts. I have a customer that is talking about doing it, but only because of the fact that it will be unique, and he wants something no one else has. It will be a custom one off build.

Buy some Strikers instead!

Thats kinda funny, go the cheaper route with the Strikers. Hey, I know they are worth it but I never thought I would here them used as the cheaper way to go.

Or pick up a salvage '08 and just swap the whole engine.

You will need the heads, intake, cable throttle bodies with proper tps setup, gen 3 map sensor, headers or manifolds, rockers pushrods, valve covers and coils as you will have to move them to use gen 4 intakes and an air box. By the time you get it all mocked up and deal witht he headaches you will have spent more money for a head that will flow what a set of Gregs heads do. I would reccomend just getting Greg a set of stock heads or get strykers. The actual benefit only comes from the intake. Just my 2 cents.....

aren't the 08 heads 11*? wouldn't that make them way superior to ported gen2 heads? I would think they would have a lot more potential.

Its been sayed a million times that until something is out you don't want to believe much but when I was at the PRI show I talked to one of the Mopar engineers that was working on a top end package from mopar that would use the 08 heads, a unique intake that would use factory throttle bodies. {------Talk about a run on sentence. He said the hp would be about 580-590 which was about 25 less that what the 08s actually make.
