Why I went w/the Viper

First and formost there's cardinal rules in Drag Racing that in my opinion you can't ignore, I was taught this frm Day 1.
*GEARS AND TIRES
*POWER TO WEIGHT
*CUBIC INCHES
*BURN OUT 2ND - STAGE FIRST!!!! AND BE A BAD ASS ON THE LIGHTS...
*IF THE DRAGSTER GETS OUTTA THE GROOVE (((THE RUN IS OVER!!!!)))

My Dad and Peers worshipped the HEMI and w/good reason. Of course they tried Chevrolet and others..but its a well known fact in Drag Racing that YOU CAN'T MAKE THE CHEVY'S/FORDS RUN ON FUEL....They'll run hard to half track then jus lay down....the HEMI KEEPS ON PULLING...smartest thing I could've done was the BAE over the Rodeck in the Dragster.

For the street :
I DON'T WANT THE FOLLOWING :
HEATED SEATS, TRACTION CONTROL, CUP HOLDERS, GPS, ONSTAR, POWER SEATS, HEADS UP DISPLAY, 50 SOCCER MOMS DRIVING THE SAME CAR..ETC.

I WANT A "RACE CAR FOR THE STREET"...THAT'S WHY I PURCHASED THE ACR!!!

Yes, I will mod the hell out of it...you have to ask yourself : Do I own the Car or does the Car own me???

I know its a RR car...but it meets the requirements mentioned above by far.
Great power and torque - N/A - it does not need a S/C w/its tongue hanging out to get there...

Racing is about platforms : The Dodge Viper is the BEST PLATFORM..PERIOD...
Just as in TAD - a BAE AFuel car when properly tuned...well, the Blower Car dose'nt stand a chance....
Hence the Viper slightly modded or heavily modded : THE COMPETITION DOSE'NT STAND A CHANCE!!!!!

Andy, congrats on the ACR. Although a true addict myself, the Viper has null to do with the hemis of yesteryear. Granted, yes, we can argue that for many years pro stock cars have ran a hemi-style setup, there is still comparison. Your mention of power : weight, cubic inches, mods, and driver technique are naturally dead on, though. Never forget there are (up to) 8,000hp V8's. To fill the need and want of our typical applications, though: the viper has always taken the podium.

Well put, the ProStock cars do run a head that is close in Hemispherical design.
Ref. the 8000HP V8's the TFX/BAE/KB type blocks w/Hemi heads along w/ NITRO are earth shakers...I can't wait to have a crack at that Fueler...Viper is on top or "podium" as you put it...best platform and it gets the HOT CHICKS..lol
