The event has been a huge success. There were nearly 1000 people at the drag event today and lots of new records set (no viper records were set that i am aware of but tim palmers srtc tt ran 10.1 on about 880 rw hp and drag radials). The dyno day yesterday had about 500 people in attendance. The 60-130 event was moved to tomorrow due to Easter.
Peter and his wife put on a great event, the racers and fans got a great show today!
Tim (F8L SNK) ran 10.13 @ 148 on pump gas and drag radials. (street trim)
Kelly (Hollywood) ran on his 20's a 10.5 @ 153 (insane mph)
Ricky (jerrys old car) Ran pretty good but had issues later in the day think the highest trap was 157 (insane)
Sorry I didn't get to meet you out there! My best 60' was a 1.87 so not too bad on drag radials. I know it can still be better but I have never got such good of traction at John's track. It was quite different and took some getting use to, but it was more driver than track I can say.
I believe Ricky's best time on the DR's was 10.0 and he was scooting around the track a little, did a great job driving. His car is putting down some good power. Kelly's car looked absolutely sick, he had a couple of minor issues and quickly resolved them. The Gen I with nitrous only was doing great at 11.0!
I wish more viper's would have shown up though.
Shotgun's car was a new combo and they are still getting it sorted out. He made a good decision not to run the slicks and skinnies just to get use to driving and I think he did an awesome job driving on the street kumhos.
your car looked great. all the vipers around you did for that matter.
The track looked like a very scary one to run at IMO. The cars were all over the place, but once ya'll hooked up you were gone. Sounded and looked great.
I would have liked to have met you, just wasn't sure which one you were. Met Ricky, kind of met kelly, met vettnviper, boostalmighty, losterdamus, and maybe another or two.
My car went dead straight every pass, the only time I had any issue was my last pass leaving I got a little agressive with the clutch and ended up short shifting first due to lack of traction. I really believe the track was doing great. Car setup and driver played a roll in most of the loose cars. I have done a lot of drag racing and the track prep to me was very good, this is just my opinion though. I went down the track very early in the day when everyone said it was crap, and it hooked great for me. The first 60' was lacking early (before around 11 am) and they dragged it and re sprayed it and it was all good from there.
I didn't hang around the car most of the time, I was watching the racing most of the time. If you met everyone else though, I was probably around we just didn't have the opportunity to be introduced.
Not called a street car. It has a fully functional cooling system, and could be driven around. I think it idles around 1000 rpm.
The car is titled though, and I suppose it *could* be driven to a street race, slicks bolted on and raced, much like a Viper with a tank full of race gas.
We're concerned the heads don't flow enough, and plan to send them to a NASCAR shop to get flowed and evaluated. They're probably *junk*
