JL Audio StealthBox subwoofer box for the SRT10

Any SRT10 owner in or around Fort Lauderdale who might be interested in having JL Audio look at their car and maybe work with them by providing your car to design a new factory looking super premium Sub box to replace that factory rattle box between the seats??

If you dont know about the StealthBox, they are hi-end car specific subwoofer boxes made by JL Audio, you can look'em up on their site. I had their Stealthbox in a 02 vette and it hit so hard and clean, it was unbelievable!

Your contribution would be appreciated by yourself and all of us! If this is you, then please contact them below:

Good morning Daniel,

Doing a Stealthbox design for the Viper would be very exciting. And we might even sell a fair number since the car is pretty much unchanged for so many years. However finding a vehicle to model from might prove to be the difficult part. If you have any Viper contacts in the Fort Lauderdale area who might be willing to work with us, please have them contact me by e-mail at dvertrees@jlaudio.com, or at (954) 443-1100 ext 2271. Look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Don Vertrees

Too bad I'm not in Fl. I've been wanting to replace the factory subs with JL but would have to do something custom to the center console so I have been reluctant to do anything. It would be great if JL had something to offer down the road as I and probably a few more audiophiles would be interested in it. I'm not keen on cutting up my shit and if there was a "factory look" option I would be the first customer.

I'm only about 25 hours away and in need of a serious Viper fix. Any chance I could borrow either of your Viper's for a couple of weeks? Winter SUCKS!

I have an 03, I wanted to upgrade my stereo sys. to something better and there was nothing out there. I knew JL audio made model specific sub boxes, but nothing for the vipe. So I contacted them about it and they are interested in building one. they just need a car to do their research and development on. Thats why I posted the message.

Check out stealthbox at the JL audio website to get an idea of what it is. They are badass. I had one in a vette.

If I was in florida, I'd do it myself. I honestly don't know whats involved. But I assume they'll need the car for a little while to come up with a viable box design.

You might even get a free box w/ sub (probably worth $500 to 800), plus bragging rights that it was designed and manufactured because of you and your car.

Please give them a call while the fire is hot. His name is Don Vertees (dvertrees@jlaudio.com, or at (954) 443-1100 ext 2271) Also ask them whats involved , and if there's anything in it for you? a free box & the high end speaker?? let me know.

Thank you so much for offering your vehicle for Stealthbox Product Development! We would be very interested in using your vehicle if we can work out the details to everyone’s satisfaction. We would need your vehicle a total of 4 or 5 times…one day at a time. The reason for this is we need the vehicle for taking patterns and checking fit during our process of making the design “plug” and prototyping. But we would not need the vehicle here while we’re building the actual plug or making temporary molds, etc. The total time required to complete a design is usually 1 to 2 months, after which it takes about 3 months to build production tooling and produce the first production part. So the total process can take as much as 5 months.

I’m a little concerned about transporting your car from Naples so many times strictly for our purposes. Do you drive your SRT to our area on a regular basis anyway? We would probably need to flatbed your car here unless you would be available to drive it. Please let me know your thoughts…

Thanks,

Don Vertrees

Dude, how sweet is that! I'm putting my system upgrade officially on hold for the next five months.

I'm sure it will be well worth the wait. Thanks for coming thru.
