When will a srt10 run in the 8's
Title says it all. A few years ago when the SRT10 came out in a short time tuners such as JH were running comparable times with TT six speeds as the Gen 2's were(around 9.5's 9'6's) now the gen 2 has eclipsed the 8's and is now in the 7's and getting faster all the time. But the srt's have not even been out of the 9's yet. I mean I know they can do it because UGR has 9.88 on street tires. Just wondering why they have not progressed much.

It would be cool to see. I always wondered the same thing. I know there are plenty of fast Gen 2's running 7 sec 1/4 miles. I keep wondering why the best we have seen from a Gen 3 is a 9 sec pass. I figured it was mostly due to the fact that even though the Gen 3 has been around for 4 model years, most were still under warranty. Now as they start to get older and need rebuilds, maybe we will see more owners take it to the next step and build some fast Gen 3's.
So how about it, who will be the first tuner/driver to run a 8 sec pass in a Gen 3.

I am sure The radial record car from UGR is very capable of this. Perhaps at Atco during the rental Kevin will do it.

Will that car be present? I know Roof sold it to someone else about a month ago or so. And set up right with good driver and track prep, that car could hit 8's no problem its just a matter of putting fourth the effort to accomplish it.

I heard some Wilwood drag brakes are going on an SRT this week.
Now this thread will finally awaken from the dead....or die for good.

We have not had anytime to mess with doing it. If I go out and try it I will be shooting for much better times than a high 8.

The power is just one part of the equation. The rest of what those types of numbers take can't be bought.
