Here's a link to Road and Track article comparing 2008 Viper SRT10 vs. 2008 Viper SRT10 ACR and several other sports cars and their "evil twin" as they call it.
Interesting to see that with same driver, on same day, ACR was almost 3 sec. a lap quicker than standard 2008 Viper. Oh, and it smoked the Porsches and Lambos. Unfortunately, we'll still have to wait to see the comparison between the ACR and the ZR1 and Scuderia.
Thanks for the link. Nice write up but no times for Ferrari's or ZR1/Z06 that day. The regular being Viper faster than the Supperleggera and GT3 is no surprise to me. The ACR being 3 secs faster than the reg Viper on just a 2.5 mile WSIR lap is just incredible. On VIR that should be 5-6 secs faster minimum on its 4.2 mile track. Cant wait for more testing. The ACR needs to hit the Ring hard. Should easily be a 7:30 or less car.
Incredible, just goes to show that even with same power the suspension/aero changes make a huge difference, regular 08' is already blistering fast on track, for the ACR to be 3 seconds faster on a relatively short track same driver and same day....ACR = Ownage
Pretty good video and write up and yes the ACR is quite a car for what you pay. I'd love to see what one with a few bolt on's and other small traction improvements could do.
3 second difference between two similar cars with same power (SRT-10/ACR) is massive difference on a fairly short track, wait till it heads to the longer tracks. 3 seconds at Willow is an ass raping for two cars that have high capability and 600 hp.
I've never ran the sport cups but I know going from stock run flats on a c6 z06 to hoosier r6's is a easy 3 seconds. But I'm comparing times to a larger track like thunder hill where lap times are over 2 min. I guess for a short track that's not too bad. Still I would think with the downforce, lighter brakes, shocks and tires that it would have been more.
