What car were you at Putnam? I was there and walked around and talked to nearly everyone.
It was a Corvette event last June. I'm hoping to make it back out there a few times this year. We were there testing some changes in a C5 and C4 race cars we run. We've been trying to find a good series local that would work in a Viper but the SCCA has a lot to support Vette's right now.
The ACR will be able to decimate all the Z06's with the improved aero. I like Viper's and Vette's but the facts are the facts.
Putnam is a 5 hour drive for me. So for us running the Michigan tracks is a bit easier.
I was raised up in Da Bronx, Putnum was the closest track (maybe) Watkins Glen. I seen a few in car videos of Putnum from some fprum members, it looks like a fun track. Being in SoCal now is year round racing and a lot of tracks close by:
Willow Springs 1 hour drive
California Speedway 1 hour drive
Buttonwillow 90 min drive
Spring Mtn. 3.5 hour drive
Derrick Daly & Las Vegas Spdwy 4 hour drive
Infineon 5 hour drive
Thunderhill 7 hour drive

I probably have 2,000+ laps at Willow Springs
Well in Michigan we have a 6 month season if you're lucky. One day once I get everything the way I want it I'll be somewhere that I can race whenever I please.
That ACR of your's should be one bad bitch!! If you get some video please post it.
Having run the 08 on the new PS2s, there is possibly a second difference due to tires ( the PS2s were the stickiest rubber ever put on a Snake till the Sport Cups were installed on the ACR ) , as the Sport Cups are a stout contender , but as noted by SoCal the Hoosier is even softer. Keep in mind the tire has to be run on the street, and though DOT certified virtually no one runs a Hoosier on the street.
Keep in mind the rule of thumb is a second on a two mile track is worth 10 car lengths, so we are talking 30 car lengths per lap at 3 seconds. Gotta agree with the bunch who said this is huge , as it is absolutely that. The extra time Eric Heuschle, Chris Winkler, Herb Helbig ( whom we all miss ) and others spent on this car is evident --- these guys are all racers and in the case of some, often racers first and engineers second!!
The winglets on the front fascia are not for killer cosmetic appearances, they were added late into the program because they work. The wing went through many variations and it works fantastic. The proof is in the Aero Group on the convertible , which has a different wing --- no more just sticking something on, they are two different cars which need two unique wings for aerodynamics.
Kinda funny but sad, during the 2002 Viperdays at WSIR in stock form on PS1s PMUM was helping me out and took my car for a few "hot laps". He clicked off a 1:31.xx Obviously they knew it wasn't me and disqualified the time
