My 06 Black/Silver Coupe TOTALED by dealerships mechanic before I pick it up
Placed a deposit and had a contract to buy a 2006 Black/Silver Viper Coupe on Monday. Waiting for a part for the stereo to arrive before i picked it up they sent it out to get it serviced. The mechanic did this to it :-( This was literally the perfect car for me at a great price. This sucks.
damage doesnt look that bad, repairable, when you say "totaled" i dont think and insurance co. would total that car out. Now whether you still want it or not is another story. If the frame isn't tweaked should be easy to reapair, Not by that dealers body shop for SURE! frickin idiots at some dealerships are unbelievable, i'd like to think the guy who was responsible lost his job. Good luck on whatever you decide to do next, and keep us updated
The wheels look sweet. I bet the tech that totaled it is feeling a little worse than you now. Tough break man. It could have been a lot worse. The car could have been yours when it happened. Move on, there are many out there.

A guy here in Vista CA brought his Ford GT in to have the ac fixed. The procedure is, that after a car is fixed, the mechanic is supposed to test drive it to make sure everything is working. Well, the service manager wasn't having any of that so he graciously took it out himself and proceeded to wrap it around a telephone pole. The dealer did offer to fix it for the guy. Isn't that nice of them? I haven't heard how the lawsuit went but this kind of stuff happens far too often. At least your car hadnt been delivered yet so they cant argue depreciation. I hope they give you a great deal on an 08! That was a pretty car though.
I was the owner of the dealership selling this Viper, it was not our mechanic who wrecked it. We sublet it out for a smog since our tech was out and the owner of the smog shop was bringing it back to our shop. It really sucks all the way around.

Sounds like someones trying to get out of a law suit. Shameless people.

Yes, this was the viper on e-bay with 20K miles on it and so far the owner of the dealership has done his best to handle the situation. I am waiting on word from him after he hears from the body shop. In addition, he has told me he would do his best to find me another car and change the stereo and rims over to the new car while honoring the same price. Hopefully this tragedy can be fixed :-) I will keep you guys posted.
