But can any moron drive 1320 feet in a straight line?

Nice lift of my post on another board.

Since then I have put about 1,000 miles on the track, about 5,000 miles total.
It has to be treated with far more care than earlier cars. The power hit at 4k is still sneaky. It chews tires far quicker. The extra power is not that usable, except on longer straights. At Sebring and VIR it would be great. It does so much more without beating you up. A great car does things well so you do not notice them When you get back to a not-so-great car, then you notice.
Neil Hanneman and Sam Hubinette have both driven mine and loved it.

Have you noticed any issues with the rear diff? Has anyone improved on the earlier time? Obviously, the lightweight wheels/rotors & Aero package is necessary to get the most out of this car.

The rear diff is wonderful. You can put the power on earlier coming out of the corner. I let Terry try it again at Willow, but there was traffic .

Where are all the ACR's? Getting polished? Seriously, it seems the only ones taking them to the track are jounalists. WTF? Am I wrong?

Rocman will be home here in Cali with an ACR from Woodhouse tomorrow. Probably the 1st ACR in Cali, I've been coaching him on roadracing at Willow Springs. He has graciously offered me a few hot laps in it. We still have to sort the car out, safety equipment, alignment & corner weighting. Gonna have to figure out the shock & wing settings for WSIR. It's gonna be 100+ every day there for the next few months so really fast laps will come in the winter

I think a lot more than 5 have been delivered, from all the pics and listings that I have seen. At least a dozen, probably more.

SoCal. It will be interesting to see the prep and setup being done on Rocman's car. Hennessey did it in about 48 hours, so maybe you should give him a call! Get out there and whip some ass! I don't expect a track rookie to do much, but it will be fun to see what you (SoCal) can do. So, who's the hot shoe in your area? I bet there are a lot of nicely prepped SU cars, probably as good as anywhere. What time are you shooting for? Good luck and keep us posted!

Boxer-There are about 5 current Viper race car drivers within 90 min of Rocman's house that could put that ACR through its paces. I'm sure Ron would agree that he may be a little rusty since his last laps in his Viper at WSIR (4+ years) As So Cal mentioned, optimum lap times at WSIR will not be had until fall, as the temps are 100+ during the summer. On fresh ACR Dot's with credible weather and driver the car should go 1:27's. Although the car has a great aero package, that aero will act as a parchute along the back and front straights. Only turn 2 & 8 will benefit from the downforce. 1:27 for a street car at WSIR is incredibly fast.

Ron and I will take the ACR up when it's dialed in. I am going to run it stock at first, just to see what this car can do. I probably won't mod it till next year, so we can get some good times and not have any excuses like "It's not fair, that car is modded". I know I wont run anything fast since I am a rookie, but I will let some of the seasoned (in Ron's case, overseasoned ) drivers take it out to see what can be squeezed out of it.
