Short throw shifter?

What brand of short throw shifter do you guys recommend. Also, how difficult is the installation?

I have a SVS shifter w/ a MGW shift knob and am very pleased with it. It is not too difficult to install. A lift helps.

Go to SVS and MGW LTD., INC. - CNC Machined and Turned Parts. Accessories for the Corvette, Mustang, PT Cruiser, SVT Lightning & F150 and Viper for more info.

I have an SVS shifter as well.....but, still sitting in the box. Looks like a nice quality piece, but can't comment more until I get it installed.

I have the Mopar Hurst Shifter and the 3" MGW Snake Gripper Shift Knob. Lift would be nice but ,with some help, I installed it from the top.

For a while I used the MGW first strike knob with the stock set up and shifting was better but even much better with the Hurst.

The travel from 1st to 2nd , measuring from top of knob with stock set up, was over 4" and with the Hurst the travel is under 2".

With the Hurst it will kind of snick into the gears. I really like the set up.

I got instructions on installing from the top and all the necessary install parts.

Here is a pic showing my set up-I can go lower but this height is about right for me.

I have the Mopar/Hurst with first strike and love it., I did the install myself. The hardest part was drilling out the rivets. Just take your time and all will go smooth

Justin

I am gathering the info you asked for-but give me a day. In the mean time I thought I would put in this pic with a few up dates that you may be interested in.

This comes down to personal preference-But sometimes I use the Hurst T Handle. The T does not look as good as the MGW but for me I like the way the T feels and I can shift better with it.
